I've noticed over the past couple weeks a bubbling sound coming from the engine when I turn my truck off. I haven't noticed the temperature getting warmer or colder than normal.

From what I've researched, it could be air in the cooling system. My coolant was a little low so I filled it up, but I can still hear it.

My question is is it bad that I am hearing this and will/can it cause any future damage? I've search how to remove air from the cooling system, but have came up short for our specific vehicle.

Sounds like you have a bubble in the cooling system. Try looking up a water pump change and see if you can find the steps to bleed the air out. Or, call a dealer and talk to a tech. Ask them where the bleeder is on the head or heads. I have also used a shop vac to pull air outmofnthe head and into the radiator on old cars and bikes. Not sure if that would work.

parking a little bit nose up, starting the truck with the heater on, and radiator cap OFF, wait for it to warm up.

its faster if you do it warm already, but, its a bit dangerous lol. you need it to warm up so the thermostat opens and lets coolant flow. have extra coolant handy as you may lose some.

it takes a bit as the thermostat will open, then close really fast once it gets hit with the cool radiator water. let it cycle a few times and you should be goot to go

Had the A/C or defrost been on up until the truck was shut off? The noise might not be coming from the cooling system.

/\/\ this! And no real damage can be done with a bit of air in the system, the water pumps aren't as susceptible to cavitation like a typical centrifugal pump

What does that even mean? It is a typical centrifugal water pump.

I will give this a shot, thanks!

the NPSH requirements are very low for these types of pumps, therefore not susceptible to cavitation
