Pathetic attempt man, seriously. I said the fact that he is black played a part in peoples responses to him after the fact. You said they didn't and accused me of profiling. I linked to numerous articles where people are talking about exactly what I said. Black, white, it doesn't matter. America's response to Richard Sherman was in part because of his looks and his race.

Again, you used the term racial profiling, not me.

 

There was no accusing, I asked if you were pulling the racial profiling card because mentioned Americans aren't comfortable with a black man with dread locks from Compton being intelligent. Because that sounds like a racial statement if I ever heard one.

Are you denying that some people who attacked Richard Sherman came from an angle of race?

 

I don't think it's a racist statement and it's definitely not the way I feel, but I stand by what I said. I do think Richard Sherman was profiled by a lot of people who immediately judged him in part because of the color of his skin.

 

Like was mentioned, anyone just listening to the interview woulda heard that and been like wtf?! And not known he was intelligent black with dread locks from Compton.

 

Listen, let's clear this up.

My comment was based on how some other people responded to Richard Sherman, I provided plenty of proof to back my thoughts. It also happend to be the same sentiment that several national media outlets are talking about, I didn't make it up.

This may be a NFL trash talking thread but to try and twist my words and have someone accuse me of being racist or that I somehow profiled Sherman is fucking ludicrous.

 

Yeah, great in a fantasy land where people couldn't see him they probably also wouldn't have labeled him a N***** or a thug.

But guess what, they did because they could see him.

I am calling them racist, absolutely. I used America as a general term, I didn't say America is 100% racist and I didn't say it is 100% not racist. I figured it stood alone as a general term. Race issues are alive and well in this country...

I shoulda/woulda/could have clarified that and added the word, some. Whether that "some" is a minority or majority is up for debate. I lean much closer to the middle or majority than I do minority.

 

That I can agree with, but don't try and tell me that I am included in "all" of America being a certain way because you read it in a news article

Like I said, the word "some" could have been used, maybe it should have. But, I think the comment "America has a race issue" stands on its own and doesn't need a qualifier.

Well I don't agree that people judged Sherman based on skin color and dread locks and being from Compton. They observed a behavior that lacked approval, was abrasive to most, and smacked of sheer arrogance. Perhaps thuggish to people. Just because he's black and from Compton doesn't make him a thug...his attitude and words made him look like a thug.

For me it was a first impression of the guy...and not a real good one at that.

If Sherman would just shut his mouth and play none of this would be an issue. He would get mad respect from everyone. Just saying.........

If Sherman shut his mouth he wouldn't be the player he is today as evidenced by his struggles in Harbaugh's obsessive control system.

Ask Gary Payton, Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, Barkley, Ali, Deion, Irvin ... ask any athlete who talked trash how they performed when they had to be quiet.

Everyone has a different mechanism to get themselves to perform at their best. It's clear Sherman performs better when he talks.
