I know this questions been asked and there is prolly a thread buy. My truck idles while in park between 1000-1200. And when I put it in drive is goes down between 700-850. Is that normal idling readings

I am assuming auto tranny on a 2nd gen taco... if so then that would be right for a cold start idle. Torque from the tranny slows the engine down.

 

We're getting sent home at 1500 due to 2-4" predicted.

 

Ya its an auto and its about 45° out.

 

Cold engine start increases the idle while the motor warms up. Once warm and in park it should idle under 1000rpm in park and less in drive.
