well it might be time to say goodbye to my truck
ins called today and said its most likely going to be totaled out tomm.....
wtf did look that bad to me....
just checked kbb and in fair cond 18k
they said more then 10k to repair.....

hell i would have kept it and stripped it before they seize it....
now i loose everything into it

While there are cases when you may certify the vehicle as a salvaged vehicle, there are also many cases where the insurance company is the one to deem the vehicle a salvaged vehicle. This can be either because the repairs are too costly and the insurance company feels that it is no longer feasible to repair the vehicle, or because the vehicle has been mangled so badly that it will no longer operate adequately or properly, while also posing a threat to those who drive the vehicle. If that is the case, the insurance company will likely seize the vehicle as soon as it is deemed as a branded vehicle in NY.

Is there a buy out option with a salvage title so that you can recover the parts you would like to reuse on another one and perhaps part out the balance of factory parts that you will not need?

guy called today and said he was pretty sure it would be totalled
he also said i could by it back as salvaged....
he said he would know tomm..that he inventoried my extra parts ie winch bumpers, ect to a third party company who will total the value of truck and wa wa wa
    :goingcrazy:

i was kinda hoping to get it fixed since that was the bad side anyhow
but then again i am tired of payments and full coveraGE ins prices

From the one picture it looked like the rear pillar was cracked through. That would mean a new cab, throw in a couple doors plus whatever else needs fixing and I can easily see them totaling it.

Is the insurance company going to pay you for the aftermarket parts?

    thanks man
    no idea?
he called asked what kind of roof racks i had
then called back and said he would have a quote worked out for me after hearing back from a third party
so idk whats going on never been through this before ....
hell never even had a claim in last 20 years
keep in mind that toyota really owns the truck....
i still owe allot of $$$$ as i just recently bought out the lease or should i say refinanced it

i am thinking thats what the third party is doing is assessing the value of said aftermarket parts to see if that bumps the value up enough to make it less then 75% of value
