My headlight is peeling (pic) I'm assuming it's just a protective coating coming off or something but I haven't seen one do this before and want to make sure it's not going to turn into crap or get yellowed now. Anyone else have this issue?

Not to be rude, but it happens to the aftermarket lenses regularly.

Thats peeling on the inside right?

Whether spyder projectors or oem look a likes, it's common.

Try to find some lightly used oem takeoffs..... They can be found here for between 100-200 bucks.

I have a little bit on the top of mine doing this. It's very faint on mine, not nearly this drastic. Mine are stock.

They are..... They look like spyders.

Remember we dont have any oem projectors, and when people do a retrofit on these they usually only do a single projector. We also dont have the led blingy light deals on the bottom.

The outside coating is peeling off. Common with aftermarket headlights. The only way to completely get rid of it is to sand it off, but you can make it look a LOT less noticeable with some meguiars ultimate compound and some elbow grease.

    Bummer... Inside or outside?

If outside, have u used winded or rain x on them before? Its not supposed to be good for clear plastic. If it iirc s on the outside, using a powerball mini on a drill and some Maguire's plastx, u may be able to clean them up.

If its not removable, could it be hidden with a set of those t Rex eye lids, or angry eyelids (not sure the name) that they sell on here and on eBay?

Outside on mine. It's not even noticeable enough to bother me really. Probably wouldn't notice unless I pointed it out. My truck is always outside in the sun all day, so I assume it is just taking a beating from that.

i used to have those same exact headlights, mine did that but i never worried about it. but mine also had a bunch of tiny vertical cracks that you could only see at an angle in the sun light. i wouldnt worry about it too much. i only got rid of mine cuz someone backed into me and busted off all the mounts.

Yeah the peeling is on the outside. I'm not too worried about it really, I just wanted to know if I should be expecting any yellowing or cracking now? If it gets to that point then I will probably switch them out.
