Just curious what people on here who have rode or know someone who has a honda rancher what you/they think about them. I have my mind set on the 2014 TRX 420 FA1E. DCT automatic. In other words, the 420 with automatic and electric shift by the hand grip. I know honda's line of ATVs are known for reliability, but I wanted some opinions. First time buying my own ATV. It will be used for trail riding, hunting and easy work. More trail riding than anything though. Thanks!

Remember that I want to know what people think of this 4 wheeler. Not to recommend others. (I don't have a big budget)

    UPDATE: Here it is!

I've never driven a Honda quad, but it's Honda, it should be well built. I've driven Yamaha, Polaris, and Bombardier several times and never had an issue with any. I'm excited to get a new quad to tug around on the back of my Taco! Good luck!

My one friend's friend has an 04 and has only changed the tires on it. And regular maintenance of course and he says it still rides like new.

King quad was my second choice, but I've talked to a bunch of people before that recommended the honda over suzuki. They're both good though

does turning tires to black wall out count? How bout added snug top rebel.
You'll never go wrong with a honda!! Best reliability for ATVs period. I've had 25 year old three wheelers that still run like new. Also they save as much weight as possible, no honda four wheeler weighs more than 600 lbs.

I personally would get the Rancher IRS model since it has a smooth off road ride.

Hondas are the best. Buy the 4x4 with push button e shift and rear independent suspension.
Hondas are the only atv with gear driven transmissions, thus no cvt slippage.

Look on craigslist first before u spring for a new one. Usually people sell loaded atvs with less than 2000 miles on them for about $6,500 including trailer.

Thanks for the offer, but I've been doing some numbers and I can afford a new honda rancher. Plus I'm stuck on it. I love can ams though.

And what do you all think about power steering? I know it's great and all, but do you think it's worth an extra $700?

Why not the foreman with the locker?

From what i hear....power steering just keeps you from being as sore after a day of riding.

You don't need it, but it is pretty nice.

Locker never was a big deal to me, but it's one of those would be nice, but not necessary features. Like power steering. lol. I grew up on ATVs without power steering. I don't think I've rode an ATV with power steering.

Go Honda! weve got 2 05 foreman and love and ride them religiously. Nice knowing they'll take me there, AND back.

I'd second the IRS if youre using it for trails and not carrying much additional weight.

Ive heard nothing but good things about PS. Just an added luxury.

I'd personally go with the Foreman. More power and still a decent trail bike

I have a 2009 Honda Foreman 500 with Power Steering and I LOVE IT. I have owned a Yamaha Big Bear 350 and a Yamaha Grizzly 700 without Power Steering. I hunt with mine and when your bringing an animal out of the forest on the rack the Power Steering makes a HUGE difference!!!!!!!!! Also if you take it out for a weekend cruise you wont be sore at the end of the trip. I would Buy Honda or Yamaha, Either way you wont go wrong.
