I think its 5w-20, I use mobile 1 full syn. Any quality oil will work, I go 5k+ between changes, if I used dyno oil I would cut it down to 4-5k between changes.

Are the 4 packs different? My v6 takes 5w-30. My dad swears by Mobil 1 for his vehicles.

My owners manual says 0w-20 on the 2012 2.7 it says you can use 5w-20 once but have to use 0w-20 on the next change. Was just goin to stick to 0w-20 from get go.

I've always used castrol gtx but I've heard a lot of good things about the Mobil 1. Didn't know if the tacos done better with one or the other.

    4 cyl is 0w-20.

You're basically stuck with mobil 1 or castrol

If it says 0-20 keep it at 0-20

I've never used any additive nor seen any reason for it.

Only used mobil1 cept a couple times where Iva had to use castrol syntech.

Always used factory filters..... Well made, and actually cheaper than most frams. Go to the dealer and ask them if u can get a deal on 3 or more filters.
I usually pay $15 for 3 filters and they throw 3 drain plug gaskets in there free.

Just talk to the counter guys like humans and not robots... Joke with them, call em by name, and be personable. Ubdont need to date the guys, but it helps when they know ya by name and because they like chatting with u instead of saying "shit there's that guy again" to each other when u pull up.

Hell they always beat napa and kragen by a long shot on oil filters, air filters, and cabin air filters.

Phone your dealer and ask as they may vary but probably not. Toyota is pretty tight with their regs.

IIRC dealers just have a huge 55 gallon drum "geniune toyota motor oil" and it says that is ILSAC GF-5/API SN,SM,SL/ACEA etc etc, meets or exceed these standards. They then just pump out the appropriate amount into your engine, i dont recall if they mention if the oil is synthetic or not.

I just purchase mobil 1 syn (10w-30,5w-30,5w-20) at costco when its on sale 6 quarts case for 27 dollars, cant go wrong with that.
Walmart also sells mobil 1 in even more different viscosity selection, but its 30 dollars for 5.5 quarts Jug
My nearby local automotive (non-mom&pop) stores want 40 dollars for 5.5 quarts, so i always go to costco or walmart.

    Fuel in the tank.
    Coolant in the radiator.
    Oil in the crankcase.

Nothing more, nothing less. Lucas additives do more harm than good.

    Ya... 2.7 takes 0w20 synthetic, 5k intervals, 4.0 takes 5w30, 5k intervals.

2.5" lift in front, aFe air intake, anytime foglights, cut 9" off antenna, superwhite headlights, spintech exhaust, med. tint in the front, weathertech floorliners and caltech seat covers, dashtek dash cover, CHLM, debadged and destickered,
Just curious, I have done over 10 oil changes on my '06 4.0 4x4 and I have always put in 5 qts of oil. I just learned its suppose to have 5.5 qts. My dipstick always seems to be in the middle. Can 5 qts instead of 5.5 cause harm? Thanks.

It says 5.5 but go off the dip stick. I always do 5. And I use the mobil one syn in 0w20, and toyota filter, my dealer sells them for 5 bucks with a new drain plug washer tossed in, cant beat that.
