Was gonna ask you about the lever on the winch and how far it should turn. It was pretty stiff, but was able to get it to turn eventually. I'll definitely be taking this one apart just to make sure every thing is on the up and up.

I must have missed however many pages back it was. what winch did you get?

new grease, some silicone sealant in place of the (Probably cardboard) factory seals, a silicone up solenoid, and some dielectric grease on every connection will have you a nice reliable setup.

I thought about buying that same setup but decided to pass cuz there are a few other things I need more.

You might need some of this:

Thanks for the link. I'm going to run synthetic though, just have to figure out which line to go with. I also have to find a line that matches the winch, so I need a breaking strength of at least 24,000lbs. The Amsteel blue in 7/16" will do the trick, but it's not cheap.

On another note, I had my co2 tank filled today and while I was there I talked to them about my fire extinguisher. It's a 10lb dry chemical unit. My extinguisher was manufactured in 2001 so it's past it's 12 year grace period. The tech said it would work just fine, but for $40 I'm having them put the thing through it's paces. They'll empty it, hydrotest it, and fill it with new chemical for $40. I think that's good piece of mind.
