Did you change your exposure (F-stop) on the second pic that you took and combined on this one?

Usually when you do a pic like that you will set the intervalometer to do 30 second exposures at every 34 or so seconds to get the light the same then stack the pics to get your final image. That way you won't get noise either.

This one was actually three photos. The first one was the still shot (10 sec) at f/5.6, the second was 150 seconds at f/5.6, the last one was 600 seconds at f/8. So yeah I did, but only for the last one. You can kinda tell that the lines have two different segments in them, it wasn't a very good blend but it turned out kinda neat. I think the reason that the still shot is a little off from the trail shots is that I may have bumped the tripod or shifted the camera a little bit. When I was shooting I wasn't actually anticipating blending any of them together except for that first one I posted separately, so I didn't care about taking them right after another or without moving the camera in the slightest.
    Why do you ask?

I saw the change in light intensity of the star trail. Dot at the bottom, Brighter trail, then lighter trail.

I got my first two rolls of really old/expired Fuji 200 film back in digital form today.
Here are a few shots. Loved not knowing what I was going to get for a couple weeks!

Thanks guys! Fist time I've EVER shot film (other than my parents film point and shoot back when I was a young pup) and the little Nikon EM sure doesn't do well in low light so even at 1.8 the shutter speeds were around 1/60th a lot of the time ha it was a really fun experience though and I have a couple rolls of Tri-X and one roll in the camera now :D lovin it.

Don't you just love the way film looks?

I just made a long plea/post to my family and friends on Facebook letting them know that if they really loved me they would surprise me with rolls of film as random presents or for my birthday and holidays and such haha

I LOVE the way it looks, and don't really love that I'm paying for film (which isn't so bad) and then paying someone to process it . . . (I know, I know, I can set up my own dark room and all that. If you could see my tiny apartment OR how little time I have to even shoot, well, I'm not going there, I'll pay someone). Worth it, but I could see it getting expensive quick. Good thing the camera was only $35 :D

I won't deny that it is a possibility but I don't see that happening in my near future, unfortunately. At the end of the day I'm going to be primarily shooting Digital and busting this thing out here and there for fun. But if I do end up getting into it later on I will let you know.

I'd love to take a month and go through Canada doing that. Nice find Ian!

On a side note I hope my Manfrotto tripod will hold up to water shots like they were doing. I plan on doing a lot like that.

They did a Google Hangout as well. It's available, along with a couple other videos here. Also, they're having a contest to win an F-Stop Loka bag. You can enter today and tomorrow (I think it's open for ~21 more hours). Click the link for entry stuff.

The Loka is a great bag. I hear lots of good things about the Induro tripods too.

As far as water use, as long as you can get your gear cleaned out, it will probably be OK. Look for a youtube video on taking it apart for cleaning. Salt/sand is the killer so taking it apart will be key to longevity.

I'll only use mine in fresh water.

I looked at the F-stop Loka bag, pretty impressive.

i see no point. Unless the read and write speeds are holding you back at all.
