Had my duratracs in snow today for the first time. They performed flawlessly it was a mix of snow and ice they hooked up everywhere

^this been on 265/75 Duratracs since winter started and they've been fantastic up here in Alberta. Tons of control and easy to kick the ass end out if you want to, haven't managed to get it sideways in 4x4 yet either

Just turn the tire around on the rim you got plenty of miles left.

First winter storm for Pegasus, my month old Taco. We had roughly 10" of snow yesterday. I took him out to check our neighborhood and to pick up the wife at her office, 30 miles away. Though main highways were treated, local roads were not. My bone stock Taco performed well. Love it!

This is him after the trip….

I couldn't be happier with my truck and how it performs on snow and ice. I run with 265/75/16 Duratracs. It out performs my Cherokee ten fold. I drive around with a friend that has a Subaru Forester. My truck can do deeper snow and climb steeper hills with snow on them then he can.

In my opinion turn off the traction control. You will have more control of what the truck is doing in the snow instead of the computer trying to compensate for spinning tires.

Drove my 2014 for the first time in a blizzard last night. A foot on the road and coming down fast. Had her in 2wd with the trac completely off (Just for fun). No problems at all even with the stock tires.

Did fine here. Had to make my own lane because I had to get to work and 2mph wasn't cutting it :) ImageUploadedByTapatalk1390418352.319230.jpg

Driven my 09 Sport in snow every time it has snowed in CT since I got it.....two winters now including this one. Anywhere from foot/half to a cpl inches. I dont like to miss work. I've yet to have a problem and I only use 4WD if I need help to start moving or the back roads (the ones w/no lighting, guardrails and are plowed once until they get back to it) are sketchy. Stock Bridgestone tires.

Seems like most of the automatic ones around here all have the underbody wash. I'll usually hit those every other week and towards spring get out the pressure washer.

very true...Have you ever owned a AWD car? They do get around a little better as long as the snow does not high center it. Just asking because I will jump in one of my subies over my truck in bad weather to get to work, it just feels safer.[/QUOTE]

I agree with minuteman, turn off the traction control (I haven't tried doing it yet but I hate it in the snow) scared the hell out of me when it tried to take over. I need to do the ABS delete mod as well, thought I broke something in the engine bay when the ABS kicked on. Haven't tried the 4wd yet either.

Sometimes I take the WRX if it isn't deeper than 5" or so. But I don't generally prefer it over the truck. The truck serves most of my needs better on a daily basis, albeit not quite as quickly.:anonymous:

A lot of the places by me are doing hand wash now and even the automatic never had the under wash actually on, plus those kill paint.

Automatic washes in general, or the underbody wash specifically?
