Hi! I am new to forum and have a question about my 2013 Tacoma V6 automatic, which I bought new 18 months ago. For the past 6 months, the V6 engine "pulses" at approximately 40 mph & 1,100 RMP's. This is a light pulse that I feel through the excellerator pedal and occur's any time the engine is at a steady 40 mph/1,100 RMP. Passengers can not feel the pulsing.

I had the dealer look into this 1 month ago. The mechanic was able to replicate the pulsing and test drove a brand new 2014 V6 Tacoma and found the same effect. And, strangely enough, the same day I took my rig in, someone else brought in a Tacoma with the same pulsing. The dealer called Toyota, which stated they had similar reports but had no fixes to resolve the issue. Toyota had stated they had replaced various parts, yet no solution. The discussion concluded with "this is a normal part of engine operations and does not effect the performance of the vehicle". A lame response in my opinion.

So, I am looking for advice or suggestions on what could be causing the "pulsing".

Any thoughts? And thanks in advance!

PS: I have a buddy that has the exact same Tacoma I have (even the same color), and his rig does not "pulse".

Seems to be Toyota's standard response when they can't fix something. It's basically the same thing they say about the driveline vibrations.

I have an '11 and feel a vibration in the gas pedal at the same speed. I think it is the driver's side differential bearing. Crawl under the truck, and grab the cv axel where it comes out of the differential and push it up and down, then do the other side of the diff. If the driver's side has more play in it, the bearing is the suspect. The problem can happen in stock un-lifted trucks, but a lift seems to accentuate the problem. There is a large thread on this elsewhere in TW.

If it's that , the vibration should go away as soon as you engage 4x4
