My 2001 Prerunner is worth about 9k today I have the original sticker of 24k. Don't care what crap you add to the new GM truck the value is crap once it rolls off the lot. I'm not sure GM can add an item to make me buy one.

My boss bought a brand new Silverado Z71 a few years ago...... His I drivers door handle broke ( cheap pot metal ) since it was a new design there were none available for replacement so for almost a month he had to climb over the console to the passenger seat to get out!

One of my friends ordered his Z-28 Camaro back in 1994. After receiving it he remove the crappy AC/Delco radio and sent a letter to GM wanting an explanation of how he could order the top of the line everything on a Z-28 Camaro and it comes with a $10 radio.

I've owned 5 Toyota trucks all 4WD except the one I drive now and all have performed beyond my expectations. You want a GM product, your choice see ya!

Now see, I don't agree with that at all. I've owned both an F-150 and a Silverado, both bought new within the last 10 years. Liked both trucks a lot, but to me, they've become overgrown and bloated. I considered both of them when i purchased my Tacoma last fall. I like the looks just fine. Looks like an aggressive truck, not a wannbe car with a bed attached to the back end.

Screw Toyota because a stealership is trying to rip you off, like what they get paid to do?

I actually hope the new midsize GM product is really good. Toyota needs some competition to get their butts in gear. I have a 2014 TRD OR, nice truck, but would like to see some improvements in Toyota. Especially in some basic conveniences modern vehicles have and a bit more fuel efficient rig.

I think good competition can make our Tacoma's better. But if the new Gm truck is a turd, Toyota can continue to rest on what they have.

I hope it doesn't become more refined. Why mess with a winning formula just because the competition does. I've had a '98, '01, '05, and now a '12. If they end up messing up on the next gen, I may have to keep this one forever.

If you buy a GM make sure it comes with a comfortable pair of walking shoes instead of a spare tire. You will be doing a lot of walking.

Not to hijack the thread but notice you've had 2 first gens and 2 second gens. You should do a write up sometime of your likes and dislikes of both gens and all that good jazz. I've never owned a first gen Tacoma (my first Toyota was the year before they started calling them Tacomas).

I have both trucks! My Colorado has 145,000 and needs nothing been a good truck. far from junk! I daily drive it over the Taco because of the MPG is solid 5-6 MPG better. The Taco is the better of the two but costs more to run. I use it as my Good poor weather vehicle.
I looking a the new Colorado too! I don't want a full size truck period!

The huge CHROME front ends of all the new model Ford and Chevy trucks.
Look horrible! No thanks! Free? Ok I can sell it quick!
I like the new Colorado though. Tacoma's need a 6 spd auto and better MPG!

Only problem is the DC Tacoma weighs considerably less but gets almost the same gas mileage as a full size DC 2014 F-150! Toyota isn't untouchable, they need an overhaul on the aged Tacoma engine..
