Is there anyway to find out when the last oil change was done? My Maint Req light is on but I have a feeling that I did oil change maybe 5 months ago and I dont think I have driven over 5000 miles yet.

How does the system know when a maintenance is due? is this based on the mileage? and is there a way to find out what maint is due apart from whats in the maintenance booklet.

I am at 32000 miles and havent done the 30k maintenance.

sorry I am one of those guys that dont keep a track of oil changes.

I read the 05 manual, it says at 4500 miles the light will come on. to reset the maint light, hold down the odomoter button while the key is OFF. keep holding it down and turn the key on and these little bars will count down.

I did this after my first oil change (just got truck used so i reset it)

GET A MARKER AND PUT THE DATE AND MILEAGE ON YOUR OIL FILTER WHEN YOU CHANGE IT !!!

30k service is oil and filter, engine and cabin air filters, spark plugs, tire rotation, rear diff service, and front diff / transfer case if that applies.

This is not going to work out well for you as mileage progresses on your taco

Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
At 4500 miles the light blinks at startup (5x?). At 5000 it come on steady. Just mileage based since last reset.

    Lots to come

This is a good idea or you can just go to your local autozone and get those little window sticker reminders that are by the oil and use those.....they're free. I usually grab enough for a years worth of oil changes

My friend's father used a small dry erase board in his garage for keeping track of maintainence stuff (oil, radiator flush, tire rotation, etc)

Been wondering this same thing lately. I got the oil changed when i got my truck back in oct? At 80k miles on it with synthetic oil and the sticker from Goodyear reads 1/2014 or 85k, now I'm no where near 85k (I'm at like 82k) is it still ok for me to wait till. 85k or should I go ahead and get it done ?
