That was close enough to drowning. How deep was the hole?

If it snows in ATX tomorrow I may get the day off and head down early. 60% chance of snow tonight and tomorrow morning. If I don't die there should be a video of a 4 wheel drive doughnut tomorrow

Deep, like over 2', but just the front went in nose first and couldn't get out. Brett's buddy has a video of that too

    Sweet! Thanks Lyndall.

I still haven't figured out when I'll be getting there Friday. I would like to get there before dark though.

And I looked into tent heaters, but with the size of my tent I don't think it's wise. There isn't anywhere on the floor to put the heater where it won't come in contact with a sleeping bag or the side of the tent.

what heater are you looking at? mine only has footprint of about 8'' x 12''. and the heating surfice starts a good 4 inches above the base, and is recessed about the same, with a guard over the front.

if you have a hard case/box with you that will fit in the tent, you can just put it on top of that to keep it off the sleeping bags.

i'd say just hang it from the ceiling of the tent, but without having an infrared heater, that won't to you too much good.

I was looking at the Lil Buddy and the Mr. Buddy heaters. There just isn't room between the bags and the side wall in this tent for either of those. I did consider hanging it, but I doubt I'll get enough heat down to the floor of the tent.

I told the gf that I'll just throw some pocket warmers in her sleeping bag. :D

you spelled man parts wrong...... :drevil:

i've used the hand warmers a lot. work really well. i always put each one in a sock first though. woke up one night on a snow wheeling trip with a really bad burn on my side, becaue i rolled over onto one and laid on it, with direct skin contact.

another method that works really well is to boil some water, pour it into a nalgene bottle, and toss that down by your feet or next to you in the bag.

    Bigger, more importantly better.

Their website has been updated and claims to be under new ownership. Be interested to see what changes. Website shows trails will be remarked.

Just got off the phone with the park. They've been doing some trail maintenance, but haven't marked the trails yet. She asked for a headcount and could have her vendor on standby to grill up burgers and whatnot. Let's get a rollcall with arrival date.
