I know there are a lot of people on this forum with CVT tents, mainly because of a group buy that happened last year. But for those that don't know the CVT and the Tepui tents are essentially identical and just a rebadge. The Ruggedized versions of the Tepui tents are unique to Tepui. Prices between the two companies is similar too.

I chose to go with the Tepui because as I was shopping around I had a MUCH better customer service experience with Tepui. Even if something costs a bit more, if I get good customer service I'll spend the money where the service is good. I'm always confused as to why companies still don't get that.

For the record, I'm not saying the CVT customer service sucked. It was ok, just much better with Tepui.

What Adam said x2. Evan was great to deal with. Returned phone calls within an hour after leaving messages. Great customer service is hard to find and Tepui has it.

Customer service is definitely a key for me and I am always willing to pay more for it. If you don't mind me asking, when did you buy your tent? I know that shortly after last years group buy they were moving/ building a new showroom and getting a hold of anyone there was next to impossible. Maybe that was the issue...? I have personally met Bobby and he is an awesome guy(not that you are saying he isn't).

Most of the tents are re-badge so for you guys out there find a company that is willing to take the time and answer all your questions. These things are spendy as F***.

I happen to live in Oregon, and one day I want to live in Bend so for me the "Buy local" factor kicks in. Bend is a tough touristy economy so I do what I can to buy from there.

***Buy Nosler bullets folks. They are located in bend***:D

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I became a Tepui Dealer for that reason Even is very prompt and handles things very well. I too and upgrading my personal tent to the XL Ruggedized we just need a bigger one.

How do you go about having insurance covering an aftermarket part to your truck?

That would be why! They were essentially closed. I first emailed them beginning of August didn't hear back until the end. He apologized and said to come check out the new showroom end of Sept mid October. Well I was in Bend over labor day and the showroom wasn't open yet but he stopped what he was doing to chat about the tents and show me around. I am excited to get back over to Bend and see the finished product in a few weeks.

Either way RTT FTMFW and I can't wait for the CVT GB.

Jerry and I saw it when we were at Tepui when they were still in prototype. It was damn impressive.

No. I had been researching and talking with several tent companies long before purchasing. I had spoken with the guys at CVT long before the group buy. Nothing against CVT or any other manufacturer, I just had a good experience with Tepui. Better than any others.

FWIW, it's probably no secret by now that I am good friends with Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters. He is hands down the best ARB dealer in the country. His customer service is as good as anyone. When looking at tents I went to him first for the ARB Simpson III tent. ARB was temporarily not selling them because they were going through the process of having their tents Fire Rated. ARB is currently the only ones offering a Fire Rating on tents.

Another place with outstanding customer service is Equipt Expedition Outfitters. I also happen to be good friends with the owner there and they are dealers for Eezi-Awn. I have quite a bit of experience with Eezi-Awn tents and they are outstanding. In the end the model I needed to fit my family was just more money than I wanted to spend.

I looked at pretty much every other tent too. IronMan 4x4, Howling Moon, Mombasa, Tepui, CVT, ARB, EEzi-Awn, and several others. Tepui offered the best tent for the value with the best customer service. Period. At least that was my experience.

I will have to remember this. I am a ways away from an ARB bumper, compressor lockers etc but its always nice to know where to get things when the time comes.

I have USAA right now but they're screwing me over on insurance. I Need to switch over to Allstate. They're about $30 less a month with more coverage.
