Im guessing you have not regeared or anything...how is the lag and loss of power going up to the 33" with the stock 3.73 gears? Oh and MPG hit...

I have not re-geared the truck and most likely will not. I didn't notice any "loss of power" so to speak, it feels just fine to me. Not too different from the 265/75s I had on before these. As for the MPG, so far I'm averaging 16.2 MPG with mixed city and highway driving. Wasn't too big of a hit coming from the 265/75s.

That's a super sharp looking truck bud. I have the matte black TRD wheels and think they look awesome on our trucks. Nice to see those tires on them too as they are what I'm buying.

Are they the 285/75R16? Any rubbing issues?

Thanks for the compliments! I really like these wheels on my truck, they are the anthracite ones (which I'm told are "special" I guess...LOL) I am the 2nd owner and these were on there when I bought it. Didn't like them at first but have really grown to like them.

The tires are 285/75/16...no rubbing issues yet on or off road. And the tires look even better now that they've had some time to "break-in" so to speak.

Nice truck! I have the same wheels and planning on going with same tires and size.
Quick question though, what is your lift combo exactly? And is it full 3 in? Thanks

Anything above 3" is "trouble" territory unless going drop bracket. At 3" you'll need new UCA's. Once you go above 3" your CV's start to get pissed...
If you're going to be off-roading frequently then a CMC May be needed. For pavement queens, you'll be fine with just removing the mud flaps.

I do plan on new UCA's, possibly even LCA's if they make em for non-long travel suspensions.

Did you have to have wheel spacers and if so what size did you go with ?

I'm not running any wheel spacers.

I'm running the ToyTec Bilstein coilovers up front, 5160 Bilsteins and OME Dakars in back, and the LR UCAs. Getting a full 3" of lift and couldn't be happier so far with the set-up, ride quality, and performance.

Are you wanting to go more than 3", or less than 3"? There are people in the forum who are running 2.5" of lift and 285s (trimming required). At 2.5" it seems to be the consensus that you do not need to do new UCAs which would certainly save you some money, and you also do not need to do new rear leaf packs or remote res. rear shocks like I did (not saying those are required for 3" of lift...just saying that they are not a "must"). How much you end up spending depends a lot on what exactly you're after with your truck in terms of looks, usage, functionality, etc.

Sorry- Don't mean to threadjack, but what is the reasoning for needing new UCA's at the 3" mark? Camber adjustment?

Noob potentially buying an 09 taco doublecab- trying to do my research prior to buying the truck. Plan right now is to do 275/75/16 or 285/75/16 and 3" lift.

    Thanks!

I think it's mostly for caster adjustment. Once you go too high, you can't dial enough caster in, and you get a wandering feeling at higher speeds.

Aftermarket UCAs are generally recommended/required above 2.5" of lift in order to properly adjust caster as well as to allow for better/smoother articulation of the suspension throughout its range of travel....at least that's my understanding of the matter.

Definitely no more than 3 in. I have the billies with eibach coils on the front and it levels my truck out. I did read that 2.5 in is OK for some people and I don't off road but I don't wanna chance it. Whenever i go up my driveway before and it rub, i couldnt stand it. So all i really need for 3 in the right way is toytec aluminum top mount, UCA and rear leaf basically.

You'll probably want to do the diff drop and sway bar relocate. Both cheap, both easy, both available at ToyTec. In back, you should probably also get the axle degree shims too. Again...cheap and easy.
