Do you have the original car fax and paperwork from when you bought it? If so you can type them a request letter for the amount of money you feel the vehicle value had depreciated. Now they will not even respond however you next step would be to go to small claims court and file against them as long as it's under 10k. The plus side to small claims is neither side is aloud to have a lawyer. You present your case to a judge and they rule. That's about the only route that I see you having if you want to get actual money back. Even that would be a long shot, honestly I'd say the deal is over and you have what you have.

I don't see why its a problem that the engine and transmission was replaced. The powertrain warranty is 100k so it was probably done under warranty at selling dealer. And was not available on car fax. I'd take it to another dealer that knows those trucks.

I'm beginning to wonder how accurate Carfax really is. I've had several friends now have something very similar happen to them. I know there are a lot of shady dealerships, but to personally know that many people who would have knowingly been screwed just seems odd. The common denominator has been Carfax every time. Report was clean when they bought it and came back horrible when they went to sell it.

forget small claims, get an attorney double ASAP, this is pure fraud...

what else was showing on the latest carfax, accidents, more repairs, what?

Also, the mileage thing is a pure criminal offense (rollback, BIG NO NO), go after them hard...

there is no accidents on the carfax...the carfax the dealer gave me just had 3 or so reports ( oil/filter change) the one i got yesterday has 5 pages of stuff ( transmission checked many time, cooling system. steering wheel replaced, electrical system checked, engine replaced)...says it was replaced at 32k then 67k it was smogged...then 33k listed for sale (when my dad bought it)

I agree! Carfax is fine, but you should always run your own Carfax report. Don't take the one the dealer offers you.....

imho carfax is a waste of time. It only reports what is done to it at an authorized service center. I can go wrap my truck around a tree, redo all the work myself and never tell anyone and it would never show up. Now do I know how to do all that work hell know. But you never honestly know.

60 minutes on TV says don't trust carfax. They did a undercover sting and found so many things wrong with them. I saw it on TV last year.

It sounds to me that they pulled a VIP history report. Vehicle Information Plus. All Dodge Chrysler dealers have access to pull that and it shows what has been done to your vehicle under warranty. Things car fax does not show. I work for a local Dodge dealer if you need some info on your truck.

All that stuff was done at the dealer....so a potential buyer won't see the stuff that was under warranty? Hmm wierd...neither carfaxs were done by dodge dealers

Anthony, talk to an attorney. If they feel there's a case, they'll file the appropriate paperwork and collect if/when the case is settled.
