I just checked the toyota website for the colors, (colours as are friends up north like to say) and it looks like they are going to have two colors close to the same? Barcelona and Impulse look almost the same color.

We had a product training meeting this morning and it seems that the Tacoma, starting for the 2009 models, will have the Toyota Star Safety System as standard equipmemt. For those that don't know, that means it will now have 6 airbags, VSC (vehicle stability control), Traction control, and ABS. It is going to share a very similar Auto LSD system with the Tundra and Sequoia. It will be a 4-mode system and quite possibly have A-Trac standard in the 4x4's..just like the Tundra. Just giving everyone the scoop unless some one else did then Sorry!!!

    Cool. Thanks.

I've heard this is due to government regulations and that pretty much all new vehicles are required to have some sort of stability control.

I know on the camry and avalon, the VSC and TRAC option is $650.00. But they come standard with seven (not six) airbags already.. so i am guessing in the range of 1,200 to 1,500. Hopefully not that much but we will be getting some around september. And the government regulation is true. We are told by 2012 some form of TRAC and VSC or ESP will have to be standard on all vehicles.

Doe's anyone by chance know what exactly the front grill is going to look like on the '09? I ask because I'm in the middle of accumulating the parts and supplies necessary to do a Satoshi Grill, and if the '09's are going to have that grill then I'd rather buy the grill from a parts house than make it myself.

leather heated or just leather seats have always been an option, but no power seats. Don't expect that any time soon. as far as the grille goes. Currently the inner grille is black, it is now gonna be more like a silver and the headlights are slightly changing too. No one has told me the exact details on the headlights though.

ok.. i just got the new truck talk insight for the 2009 .. only dealers get this, so here we go..the black grille will be now a color called argent, smoked headlights will be on the trd sport. trd offroad and the x-runner, led tailights, new tailgate handle design to accomodate the optional back up camera, the new colors are magnetic gray, barcelona red, pyrite and timberland, MP3 audio input, the back up camera will be a 2.4 inch screen, the access cab will have power locks and windows standard now, as mentioned before, the Vehicle stability control, traction control, abs and six airbags will be standard, no six disc changer on any single cab, and the double cabs will have an optional JBL sound system with 6 disc changer, xm and blue tooth.

those are all the changes i have just been given. as far as the guy who said about the leather and heated seats i am not sure when, but we have two on lot right now that have heated leather seats.

NOw the price differences will be based on options of course but the only real price change will be cuase of the safety equipment. a range of 250-650 dollar increase is expected.

Oh and the last week or so in May we are scheduled to start getting the 2009. I live in Houston, so not sure if it is based on area or not.

Thanks for the great info....that price difference sounds much better than the 1000-1500 that I was expecting although it also depends on the package price changes as well. I keep looking and waiting to see literature or actual Toyota literature posted on their site or else where. Thanks for keeping us up to date...this info really helps.

Not to nag but any word on the release of pricing yet as I know production is to start soon on the 09's if my memory has not failed me. My interest is peaked more and more as I read here on TW and see all the other Taco's out on the road. I think I even have one of the other guys that works with us talked into getting an 09 in the near future as well!
