Me to, though my favorite is pewter and hate fucking anything with zinc lol.

The top and bottom I ran a light bead and on the front I tried to fuse it but the miter was a bit lose so I had to add rod.

never tried pewter, or anything with zinc. the only "odd" type of metal ive done is cast iron and cast aluminum

It's not a common metal, but we make counter tops so we work with it a lot. I've never done any cast one if the other guys usually does all the might/stick welding.

Id say 90% of my welds get blended, which in certain aspects is nice cause it doesn't matter what they look like, but i never really get the chance to lay down a decent bead cause there is always a deadline:( I've actually gotten a lot worse since I started working here, though I have learned a lot of other things.I also hardly weld and If i do it's small stuff like that. Part of the reason I like pewter is it means lots of welding.:D

Normally id tell ypu to stay away from china made machines but in this case its acceptable. Thermal arc is a solid company that stands behind their product from everything ive read. Also they are owned by Victor which is also Tweco. Both big names in the welding industry.

Also if you look into in the thermal arc 186bis also th3 same thing as they Longevity tig weld 200 or whatever. Its a little cheaper but dont do it. Longevity is one of those shitty customer service vendors. Pony up and buy the thermal arc.

With a foot pedal they are a little less than $1800

Youre telling me, It's a cake walk! I tend to almost shove that rod so hard it bends as I drag it in the root of the joint im welding.

I've got one; been using it pretty heavily for the last few months. Really like it.. although, I'm kind of kicking myself for not going with the 252i.

It's a great machine, and I was super apprehensive about it being Chinese. Honestly, no issues so far. The regulators/consumables are all Victor or Tweco, and the fit and finish is excellent. Really like the digital readouts on the parameters.
