I've seen that truck before in the Springfield area. Always seems to be going the other way and never get a good look at it. If it's the same one it may be a 6" drop bracket lift (looks too tall for a 3") with wide tires on it.

Any recommendations for a local shop to install an Icon suspension, and maybe an ARB locker? Got one estimate from IPOR, but like any smart consumer, I'd like to get another. Thanks for any info!

you can try High Tech Auto and Truck center (off Rt 28 and Rt 50 in Chantilly). They seem to specialize in modified trucks/off roading vehicles. They were working on a stage 4 icon setup on a 4runner when I stopped by and they have a nice waiting room with free refreshments and snacks. They even do alignments on oversized wheels (which anyone knows what a pita that is with other shops).

I can vouch for that place as well, a little pricey, but they all seem like real good people.

Check with DOUBLLD on here. He will do it and most likely be cheaper than High Tech. Shoot him a PM. Just another suggestion.

A lot of the guys have had him put their suspension on. He is a certified mechanic/used to work at toyota and currently works at some shop in Herndon i believe.

I've had a lot of work performed at IPOR, they're an honest shop and they know what they're doing when it comes to Toyotas. IPOR helped me build my 80 series Land Cruiser and they are a major supporter of the TLCA.

Doublld is also great, he helped me with some exhaust work and my dual batteries.

If you want to save yourself some money, I'd install the switches, compressor, and air lines yourself and then let someone install the locker. East Coast Gear Supply sells a drop in ARB 3rd so, that makes it almost a do it yourself job.

I personally don't think you could go wrong with IPOR or Doublld, however...if you want a one stop shop including alignment IPOR may be your best bet, but I'd check with Doublld and see what he'd charge and then make the decision from there, I'm sure he could find a place for an alignment as well.

PM if you want to talk further.

    - Mark

Same basic shit everybody else had 5 years ago.
IMHO You can't go wrong with IPOR. They have done quite a bit of work on my Tacoma and I have never once felt like I was lied to or the work was anything but quality. They did my lift, rear frame plates and my ARB bumper back in the day before I figured I could have done it myself. They have done mechanical work also that no one else was able to resolve.

The bonus is I live just down the street from them. I hate that I am moving to Norfolk in March but will gladly drive back up this way to do any major work I don't feel I can accomplish on my own or at a wrench day.

Read through this forum though and I think you will see that DOUBLLD is the man and I have never once read anything negative about his work. Either way you go I think you will be in good hands so the issue is now who will charge the least amount of money for the work! Good luck.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I've been down to IPOR, and have been impressed with their work. Looking forward to checking out High-Tech, and DOUBLLD soon as well. It's so nice to have more than one good option.

My frame is brown and looks like swiss cheese. I guess nature decided to give my truck a weight reduction.

I was exaggerating a bit but this weather certainly isn't good for our frames.
