I've searched both this section and the suspension section and I really can't find any info on this. I'm thinking about getting some 5100's and setting them to the 1.75" setting and adding the wheelers progressive aal or the icon progressive aal so my current 2+1 leaf pack. Since I've got the off road edition, will the ride be pretty harsh since the coils are stiffer than other models? Those that have an OR model that have done this please tell me what you thought of the ride. I mostly drive on pavement but think I'll go billies instead of spacer.

Subscribed because I have the same question. I've read on several threads that you shouldn't use 5100's with the OR coils, then on other threads people are using them.

It will be stiffer than an sr5 or a sport with 5100's at the same setting because ur preloading a progressive coil.

It may not be bad at 1.75 but Thats subjective... The best thing u can do is try to find a member on here Thats near u and has 5100's on a offroad at 1.75 and go for a ride in it.

As for the rear setup.... I have the icon with rear 5100's and it rides great!

Why are u seeing some people say they love the ride and others hate the ride on the same truck model and same height?

Again, its subjective and as long as the owner is happy is all that matters.

I have 06 TRD O/R with 5100's set at 1.75" up front and the ride feels the same to me on pavement. Off road feels a bit better and more comfortable. I also have removed my swaybar so that also helps the off road feel. I have not done any AAL or blocks for the rear.

No sway bar offroad deff makes the IFS actually feel like IFS should when u dip into things doesnt it?
I'll never put it back on. Taking a long lazy corner looks crazy according to my gf when she was following me in her car tho.
I felt comfy but guess it rolls more.

See, I rode with the threaded ones set at 3" and me and the owner both thought they rode way too stiff. Again subjective data tho.

We did also agree it rode much stiffer than my eibachs and billies set at zero tho. Same
Truck model, year, cab configuration and everything.

    Just felt bone jarring.

Someone's signature on here says "swaybars are like condoms, it's safer with them on but feels much better with them off". Lol

That's the exact setup I have. 5100's all around, set at 1.75, and the Icon progressive AAL. At first I thought the front was a little stiff, but I don't know if the springs broke in a little (I installed them at around 1500 miles) or if I got used to it. I really like it now. I have considered getting a set of 2" springs and setting the front back to 0, but I haven't convinced myself it's worth the money. I have been on this setup for around 12k miles.

    Check my gallery for pics.

PS: I had the 5100's at 1.75 and TSB springs on my other truck, it was an SR5. It's a bit stiffer than the other truck, but not much. Kind of like regular leafs to TSB leafs. You feel a difference, but not much.

I just installed the Toytech Bilstein 5100 lift kit W/ Eibach front coils, SPC UCA's, Spacers and lean spacer for the full 3 inch lift. Also installed 2" AAL's in the rear and . THe ride is smooth. I do feel the bumps a little more on some bad roads but it's not bad. The back sits about a 1/2 inch higher than the front.

This may be a dumb question as I think the answer is yes, but here goes. I'm kinda worried that my suspension will be stiff on my O/R if I set 5100s @ 1.75 but I like what I read a few post up about it only being a little stiffer. If I got new coils, say the OME 883 or Eibachs, would I need to by new shocks anyway? Just looking to level and put a progressive leaf in the back on my non tsb.

I have stock O/R coils with 5100's set at 1.75. The ride is stiffer than stock by the hair on a dog's ass. It rides like a truck oughta. It's not bad at all but yes it is a little stiffer. Also, I still have my sway bar still attatched:crapstorm:sorry. It's coming off this weekend because I am putting King's on:headbang: Also, have a prerunner O/R so don't know if that makes a difference or not.
