No go on mounting the Air zenith on the taillight bulkhead. She's too big. The only easy solution that keeps the compressor out of direct exposure is the cubby.

Going to finish up mounting the tank and compressor tomorrow. Probably won't have time to wire it or plumb the Airline tomorrow.

Took far longer then it should of, impossible to get to half the damn bolts for the stupid compressor because its cramped in the cubby. 5 gallon tank is a nice fit too. Tucked up high enough even for a high clearance rear bumper.

Looks good dude. I am planning on a similar set up! Please take lots of pics. What is the tank bolted to.

I went with an aluminum tank, so its super light. Two 1 x 3/8" grade 8 bolts to the bed floor. I had to persuade the spare tire xmember with a 5lb sledge so it wouldn't rub the tank. Also threw some split fuel line over the edge to avoid metal on metal during flex.

The compressor, I would have mounted vertical behind the tail light but I went with the overkill beast of a compressor and it barely even fits in the cubby. I had to use magnets and spend forever to get the inside bolts on the feet of the compressor in and tightened. Was not fun by any means.

Any suggestions on which quick disconnect air hose to get? I know Brady made his own...

And it rocks! Though I don't get to use it much in the winter because I just leave my tires aired down to 20-25psi all winter.

    ARB hose :p

I like the ARB compressors too, almost wish I would have went that route...I'd be done with the install already. I took the difficult route. We will see if it was worth it soon enough!

Oh. haha I don't know if it is the hose, the ARB gauge or the fact that I have 20 feet of hose per tire where with my setup I built, I have 50 feet divided between 4 tires.

It was slower but I can't imagine it is much different than other hose and gauge combinations you might use. For an inflater I would try to find one that locks on. I hated that I had to stand there and hold my ARB gauge on (even though it has a locking end it never locked to my valve stems well, seemed lock well on my friends with his TPMS sensor valve stems though) and I have to hold the handle down for it to inflate as well. It made for a long 5 minutes per tire...

With my 4 way inflator, I just lock it on flip the switch on and do something else while it inflates.

Seeing you say that makes me think I should go with the ARB compressor. I really want to make a storage container that fits where the spare tire used to go. Then I want to put some storage and the compressor in it to keep it protected from the elements.

If you are just using your locker to fill tires run a locker I highly recommend the ARB compressors and just forget a tank. Unless you are running a decent sized tank at a pretty high pressure it won't help much with tires anyway and you won't have to make room and haul around a tank. Plus the ARB are rated at a higher CFM than the Viair 480C, they just don't go over 90 psi (which you are never going to fill a tire anywhere near that high).

Okay I am going to stay ARB on the compressor then and go with the twin. Honestly going to use it strictly for locker and tires. I will am going to also get a CO2 tank at some point to run tools or fill up faster. I know it's excessive.... and I don't care. lol

You wanna talk excessive, I have an N2 tank with a 800 psi regulator. haha That'll fill the tires up fast!

Honestly, my compressor set up should smoke the ARB performance wise. I enjoy figuring shit out so that's the reason I went this route. Overkill is my motto. I also have flexibility to tweak my set up how I please. ARB kind of limits that.

Dual Viair 480c's mounted behind each tail light would be pretty sweet though.

I wish I had that much room in my cubby, thats great for a size difference in compressor reference. Mine is HUGE in comparison. I am going to have Billy @ BruteForce incorporate some sort of air chuck mount under my license plate like you've got  Glad to see someone else has thought of this simple, yet awesome idea.

Which compressor do you have? I haven't actually seen real world tests, but on paper the ARB is rated higher than the 480C at 29/30 psi and the Twin ARB is higher than the dual 480C's.

I already have 1 single ARB and I would like to pick up a Twin and hook them all together and see if I can run power tools right off of that.

So my set up is finally operational and was able to test it out yesterday with some air tools.

One of the local guys ran an air saw off my truck while cutting bedsides for his HC rear which consumed a ton of air (6CFM is what the box said) and it was enough air to do a a full side on one tank. Compressor ran for over an hour while doing all the cutting.

I also filled up one of my 35's from 12PSI to over 40 on one tanks worth of air. Next time I air down all four, I'll time it on getting back up to street pressure.
