in all seriousness, I support what they are protesting for...watching it live though is so surreal.

That shit would not fly in the States...people would be too busy trying to loot shit, and getting pepper-sprayed/bean-bagged. Plus with all the docile, left-wing, hipster, e-activist, tweeters, they would get cold and complain about the carcinogens in the air and go home to eat quinoa and tofu dogs.

At least those fuckers know WHAT they're protesting and seem to be pretty relentless.

I briefly read some. Their "president" was about to sign some "treaty" which would join them with the EU. The people supported that decision but at the last second he backed out to appease the rich and gain support from Russia.

 

I wouldn't really be excited about joining the EU right now....

They are protesting for more jobs and better wages when they built themselves into welfare states prior to the recession. That one of greece could also be a protest to keep foreigners out as well. Spain and Greece fucked them selves lube less not expecting any repercussions to happen.

Doesnt help that unemployment rate over there is around 30% and up. Hard to be complacent when you dont have money, jobs, and a shit load of tools and blunt objects which arent being used to do constructive things haha.

Spain's youth unemployment rate is almost 60%. Imagine 60% of the youth population wandering the streets with nothing to do

I think the straw that broke the Ukranian's back was the fact their President passed a rush order banning all public gatherings of protest. They also issued a mass text-measage to those in the vicinity of the protest stating "Dear Subscriber, you are registered as a participant in a mass disturbance"
