2.7 Throwout Bearing Chirping

I have 43000 miles on my truck and have had a chirping coming from my truck for a month or so now. I thought it was just a belt or pully at first but realized it goes away when you press in the clutch half an inch or more.
So i did some searching and found threads about the six speed throwout bearings needing replacing and in some extreme cases needing a whole new tranny due to it wearing down the aluminum pilot shaft which isn't a replacable part in that tranny. From what I've read the five speeds have a steel pilot shaft and it is a replacable part.
Just wondering if any one, and how many of you with a sec. gen five speed currently has or had this issue?
I will be taking it in next week, and I am hoping it will be covered under the powertrain warranty.
If you have had it and have had it fixed was it covered under your powertrain warranty ?and if not how much was it to fix

I have almost the exact the same truck: Tacoma, 4 cylinder, 5-speed, 2009, stick, and one noisy throwout bearing. I also have 43k on my truck. Maybe we're the same person? Freaky. Anyway, I see that you posted your problem almost 1 year ago. Can you tell me how you were able to resolve this? My dealer--and Toyota Tech. Care--said that this is not a power train issue, so I'm SOL with a warranty repair. My truck isn't even 3 years old! I've been on the phone for 3 weeks, trying to get a resolution to this problem with Customer Support. I plan to remind them of their Mission Statement ("To attract and attain customers with high-valued products and services and the most satisfying ownership experience in America.") AND their Vision Statement "To be the most successful and respected car company in America.")
We'll see if they really do practice what they preach

 

It ended up being my To bearing, I waited a few months and then took it in just before my warranty ran out. The dealer around hear knew right away what it was, and i got it replace under warranty, all I had to pay for was a new clutch and machining the flywheel they covered everything else. that was a year ago and alls been fine since

 

Holy thread revival batman! Lol I'm getting my clutch and everything replaced monday because my throw out bearing is bad.

I have a '02 5 speed and the bearing is quiet. I had a manual s-10 and the bearing made the chirping noise for 14 years. It was sent to the junk hard because of rust.

 

I have this problem. I thought it was a noisy slave cylinder. I had my clutch done at 170K. It was still in good shape. Now 10k later and I have this nasty and annoying continuous chirp.

Does a bad TO bearing cause a slight vibration as well?

 

I had a 97' and the input shaft was bent do to excessive heat. Beating on it non the less, but put another 100k on it after that still no problem just a slight vibration. still ran fine up until the day i sold it. Now i have an 02' and have a slight vibration after a recent clutch and flywheel replacement and i'm not worried about it. like the other guy said these trannys are bullet proof.
