You were saying you wantes an MVP plug ealier so id step it up to the 211i. That one has the MVP plug and up to 200 amps. Only DC current though which means no aluminum unless you use a spool gun. The 211i is around $1100. The 252i is a pretty awesome machine but im not sure if its worth the extra $900

Hey Eric, I can vouch for the quality of the Thermal Arc welders and Plasma's I own both of them and the Plasma I have owned for over 15 years. Great machines and great service. I just recently bought the Thermal Arc 252 3 in one machine in DC Tig,Mig, and Stick. I dont use much AC tig so didnt really need it. I did buy the foot control for the tig portion and a way easier to use setup than the hand control but the hand control comes in nice for out of position welding. Having the bigger machine is great as I like having the 300 amp range for some of the bigger stuff I weld. So if you have any questions feel free to PM me.

15 years? didnt know theyve been around that long. never thought of the hand control like that, would be great for welding when youre not sitting down. I find myself having to do a lot of welding on my back and sitting on the floor

Thermal Arc was the inventor of the Plasma cutters for the compact versions. They were actually first produced in the states. Here is a little info on them. They are now owned by Victor.

Thermal Dynamics has been in operation for over five decades and is as a pioneer in plasma cutting systems. Its history goes back to Dartmouth College when Professors James Browning and Merle Thorpe of the Thayer School of Engineering incorporated Thermal Dynamics in 1957.

Think it's overpriced by about $1000..

It looks like a good package, but it's a JD2 Clone. Said someone is interested it, and that it's mine if I offer full price cash. Seems fishy to me.

Priced out a brand new JD2 w/Powerpack, and it's a few hundred dollars cheaper..

    Pretty firm on $2500

    Thoughts?
