What are we up to now? 6 blades per razor? Maybe 10?

Try the feather light razors for those of you using safety razors.

A slew of pricey stuff my wife hates me for.
Had the same working in a civil design firm. Same now for the DoD.

    Army.

My son got a head cold and I'm certain he handed it off to me. Fuck.

And on the topic of razors. Gotta shave every day. Still rocking the Mach 3. Bought a lifetime supply of blades at the PX on the last deployment, they had a clearance literally pennies on the dollar. Won't have to buy any for another ten years.

Worked on an old (last time tested was 1950) elevator today. There is a hemp rope that you pull on to lift and lower yourself. eduba4yd_334a2af2bf0964a5e45b8ea0d0fb17dacfcaa35f.jpgge3e6y2e_8747d82ce4424fa9b22e3772ac8e70108814a12e.jpgysatu4u6_b0cdaf56dfd6f5401b78554608f6066666df068c.jpg

Yup. You have to pull hand over hand to pull yourself up the hatch. This is the oldest I have seen in my twenty years.

Shrug. To each their own. My girlfriend complains about itchy-scratchy when I do that. And not always when it's on her face. ;)
Plus, certain odors (see above) wash off of a clean-shaven face much better than they wash off of a bearded one...:anonymous: :rimshot:

Mine's an antique Gilette twin blade (one per side). I spent $10 on it at a pawn shop, cleaned it up, disinfected it, and I've been using it for about 5 years now. I can't help but wonder sometimes who else has used it. Probably a bloated old bastard with a shitload of STD's, knowing my luck.

Don't. The new stainless blades are infinitely better than the old carbon-steel ones. My razor came with a pack of vintage Wilkinson Swords. I tried one and it hacked my face all to pieces, and then it rusted in less than a week. The new stainless Swords I use now don't hack my face, and they don't rust either.

Never had great luck with the Feather brand. Dovo gives my face a really good shave, and the Gilette Platinums work awesome, but fortunately the cheap Wilkinson Swords work really well for me too. :notsure:

I have my great-grandfather's old straight razor. I've used it a couple of times, and it gives an absolutely amazing shave, but it's so much more time consuming that I only use it on the weekends if I'm in the mood.

WOW! That is really Ye Olde Elevator there!

No habla either-o No speaka da German Either.
Shrug. I took French in high school. Figured it'd come in useful living so close to Quebec. Didn't realize they were teaching us classical French until we went on a road trip and I only understood about 1 word in 3.

Phew. Sorry for the marathon replies; during the weekends I don't typically log on, and then when I do it's either at breakfast or after dark. Now it's off to dinner (promised the GF a night out).
    See ya'll later.

I just googled those razors. It looks like a pain in the ass to use. You have to adjust the depth of the blade and the angle. Plus do you have to use the soap and brush?
