too many Fanboys and misinformation on here. the weight savings of about 700 lbs is on the F150 SuperCrew lwb. it is an aluminum alloy similar what the military and spacecraft uses. the frame is strengthened 23% by using higher tensil strength steel. i liked my 2005 Tacoma but didnot love it. don't start with 100% reliability, look at the short comings most everyone has on here. weak springs, brakes, tailgates, bad front end bearings on 4wd list goes on, almost forgot the shudder. the biggest thing Toyota has going for them is resale and Fanboys. worst vehicle i ever owned has to be my 92 4Runner, blown head gaskets at 60k miles, rearend whining, a/c at least under warranty, tailgate window worked sometimes, warped rotors, terrible mileage, rode like a log wagon. had a 2000 F150 Supercab Lariat 4x4 before my Tacoma, 100k miles on went back to the dealer once for a recall on stalk mounted cruise control and at 94k i to remove the IAC and clean, no other problems. that truck and my 72 Chevy swb 4x4 are the best 2 trucks i have evered owned. the more electronics they put on all the vehicles the more problems evry mfg. is going to have.
