^ that damage really doesnt look that bad...id say they did a good job delivering those from the other things I've seen them do, hah.

Also, seems like you should be contacting UPS...not the seller.

When I had similar incidents occur Amazon contacted the seller and the seller opened the claim with UPS

It's damage. I don't pay $300 for damaged merchandise. For that matter, I don't pay $.30 for damaged merchandise. If I wanted scuffed shit, I'd buy used shit. If you consider that a good job, then your standards are extraordinarily low.

The seller is responsible for delivering the items to me in the condition that I purchased them (new). It is very likely that UPS damaged the item. The seller chose to ship via UPS. It is on the seller to take care of the customer, and seek reparations from the shipper, not the other way around.

But at the same time, IF the delivery service damaged them, then the delivery company will settle it.

Im not saying you shouldn't get some kind of partial refund or a diff set, or what not, I'm just saying that I understand what you're saying, but you also have to put yourself in the sellers position. If you wrapped a package good, shipped UPS, and then it showed up to the buyers house trashed, are you going to assume full responsibility for the delivery mans lack of care?

UPS will tell you that it is the shipper's responsibility to file the claim, not the receiver. Whoever pays UPS for the freight is responsible.

I'm saying that I'm in this position regularly. I order tires/wheels in for customers constantly. As the executor of the purchase, it is my responsibility to ensure that I put a product of acceptable quality on the customer's car. So, if a product is damaged or incomplete for any reason, be it from the manufacturer, shipping, or even during install, it is my responsibility to make it right. With that being said, I will absolutely be calling the company that shipped the product to receive my own credit/obtain an RGA, but that is after the customer is taken care of.

On the other side of the coin, I also ship product to other store and in some instances directly to customers. It is rare, but on occasion, FedEx decides to use a wheel I ship as a hockey puck, and I'm forced to bite the bullet on replacing the item. Of course I work with the courier down the line (which rarely does anyone any god, for the record), but I have to accept responsibility initially.

For the record, I'm not all that upset that I have a damaged product. I'm mildly annoyed with the lack of follow-up, and pissed with them for going completely silent (to the point of not responding to emails, answering the phone, and seemingly disconnecting their voicemail) since acknowledging my return. I'll have to wait 'til Monday, and I'm sure that being an Amazon vendor, they'll make it right, but the whole thing is kinda sketchy at this point.

When I contacted Amazon they gave me a time line for if the seller went silent. I believe it was a couple days and if no response was heard to contact amazon again and inform them the seller is unresponsive.

Yes, and technically, they are still operating within that timeline.

Oddly enough, I looked at the same part on Amazon, and it's now being sold by a completely different vendor.

I know you expect a 100% perfect item but in reality, it's a steel item that got slightly scuffed that a quick rattlecan satin black won't fix. These steps would go through much worse offroad than a UPS warehouse could throw at it if you bought it for that purpose.

Interesting. Did they come with the LEDs?

This is the truth. With that said, I want to damage them myself, not have UPS do it for me. There's also the issue of what I haven't seen, which is everything but the tip of the item. I have no idea what happened to these items during shipping, or if I'm missing parts that fell out of the box. I haven't played with it, because I'm trying to leave the package in the exact condition that I received it.

No, I purchased without the LEDs. When I spoke to a Body Armor rep a few weeks back, I was told that the LED option was backordered. To be fair, I don't really want LED lighting on my rock steps anyway.

Thanks for the answer. I was looking at purchasing them, so I was curious.

I looked at these steps when they first came out. I emailed the company about the availability and cost of the LED lights and never heard anything back. I couldn't bring my self to purchase the steps when the company couldn't be bothered to answer an email. Too bad, as they are cool looking steps.

I just bought these off of CarID.com. They were priced higher, but I talked to them and they did price match on Amazon. I'll let you know how this experience goes. (They also do not include the LEDs)

Hey guys just got these the other day on Amazon and had my younger bro help me out on the install and glad I did cause these things are "Beasts". I opted NOT to go with the plastic step the manufacture makes for an extra $90 and did the LOWES $5 dollar Super grippy Stair Tred step instead. I am sure glad I did they are super adhesive and if they get ruined I can run and get another for only $5 no slipping issue here. Not to many Tacoma owners rock these and that's one of the reasons why I went with them. Install was easier with two people and still we had a bit of time leveling/lining them up. As far as the manuf. instructions....we don't bother even sending them because all it did was just list the stuff they came with. A monkey could have figured it out. I will rate these later in the year after I see how they do, bit as far as now I am VERY PLEASE with what I purchased and on day one already got other Taco owners to turn and look.
