    Thanks,

The NFAB side steps are an option also. You can get them on the NFAB web site or on autoanything.com. They are sold under the name smittybilt at autoanything.

Check out EddyRRT's sliders on TW. SOS concepts I was in your situation looking for some bars. I don't really wheel my truck to the point I need sliders but I figure for the same price or cheaper then bars the extra protection is worth it. If you use a custom fab guy he can put the bars on a different angle and make them more of a step then slider. It really depends what your looking for though. If you just want a step, need bars prob your best bet for ease of installation. Lots of options on here for sure. My dad has nfab's and they look good! I plan to fab some removable steps to my sliders and have best of both worlds. Good luck

I don't think I exactly need sliders either. More to save the door sills from getting the paint wore off from people getting in and out.

And I really don't want to weld anything to the frame at this point.

You can do bolt on's but I hear ya. Check out The door seal protectors on here sold by GTek. They are much cheaper then nerf bars and look really good. If the seals are all your worried about this is the route for you!

Hey Dave... If you're looking for parking lot defense, the factory black ones look really sharp, although my (older) parents have trouble using them as steps.

If you prefer sliders, I really dig the www.avidoffroad.com version. Brandon gives a TW discount, just email him. I just bought their light bar and hitch step today.

NFAB or factory predator steps off CL are common. If you want the protection of sliders but the function of steps you could get all pro sliders with fill ins, dual purpose.

I do like the G-tek door sill protectors, they look good and work great IMO.

Adam at 4xinnovations made me a set of bolt on sliders at zero offset with expanded steel as fillers. They also work outstanding if you want to use them as steps but provide protection and can even use the hi lift on them if need be.

I did the bolt on ones with kickouts and zero degree offset, count on going through a couple of drill bits while drilling holes in the frame. But they are solid enough that you can lift the truck with them. The weld on ones are a lot cheaper, but of course then they are there for good.

    http://www.4xinnovations.com/Rock-Sliders_c_12.html

It was ~$100 extra for the expanded steel filler plates. Adam does a perfect job cutting the mesh and each contact point is welded with skill, almost feels like I stole them... Well worth it IMO!

Mine came with NFAB steps. I really like them. From what I've been told if you can step on the Toyota bars you might as well just step in the truck.

Why are side steps called "nerf bars" anyway? Isn't Nerf some sort of foam toys?
