Mine wasn't either. It was a very clean truck when I got it. But most of my stuff is seized on. My sway bar has been the worse so far. Plus 1 of the bolts to mount skids are sheared off inside the nut and one of the nuts welds have broke. So that'll be fun when the time comes for skids...

 

Hmm, my skids cleared the diff drop fine...

I just got rid of my stock skids after the bumper, they were so bent I wasn't even going to try to make them line up...

 

This is either a good story or a bad idea in regards to your previous posts...

Nope. Just a regular old 1" diff drop.

 

Who knows haha You got yours on though, right? I don't see anything getting messed up?

Also, just realized that Budbuilt front skids only use the two rear stock mounting points from the stock front skid. Hoping that those two are the ones that are fine. But I think the driver side one is the one with the nut the broke the welds...

I ground my finger down to the bone because I didn't have gloves on. I grind and weld with none or very little protection a lot. Young and dumb.

 

Luckily none of that happened to me

 

I've only been cut once by a grinder and never shattered a wheel. I don't use the guard, but I am usually careful and pay attention to what I'm doing. I also use the extra handle for my other hand so I can keep it stable if it does bite.

Just got word the truck arrives Wednesday.

 

I'm not reckless with power tools. Sure I might disable some of the bullshit safety features, but I know enough about the tool to do it. I wouldn't recommend it, but since I trust myself I will keep doing it. You gotta be smarter than the tool ya know...
