    Damn, that's no good.

They're sanding the beltway now. North and Southbound were completely shut down. They're a little late though.

I was paying attention hard to the intersection too. I completely missed all the slipping and sliding happening. I wasn't imagining things there were people at one point walking on the shoulder, right?

You weren't just seeing things. There was a toll road authority worker that had stopped to check on one of the drivers. Several cars skidded around while he was walking along the inner shoulder.

We'll probably have a repeat of this stupidity come tomorrow. Stay tuned for another video. :D

Ahem...true southerns...Louisiana included :anonymous: We had 1500 accidents in the area...5 people died.(two from getting out of their vehicle and getting turned into a pancake by another vehicle)...and tomorrow is round 2..oh joy..

Still..it amazes me how stupid people are..no common sense at all..OH lets go 70mph over the bridge when i should know it has ice on it..then panic while on the ice and slam on the brakes and expect to make it across...EPIC FAIL!

On the way home from work after it stopped sleeting, the overpasses were still a bit frozen..i slowed down to 35mph before crossing it..however some nut in the fast lane went 50+ and finally braked when he saw the ice..im thinking..if you ain't done breaking by the time your on the ice..your toast! Luckily he didn't crash.

Just keep the tires pointed straight and don't change your speed and you'll be fine.

 I'm surprised there wasn't a 20 car pile up when the cops were blocking the intersection. And yes, very interesting that they didn't look to see what he was disposing of...unless an undercover cop planted drugs, etc knowing that he was picking them up :notsure:

I had a 90% accuracy rate for predicting which cars would slide  speed people! driving on ice is all about speed...or lack there of really.

BTW you should ask the building maintenance people to trim the trees back a wee bit so we have a better view ;)

Nothing doing. The bobbing head weather reporters got it wrong. There's plenty of ice north of us, but it's just wet here. Oh well.
