We were thinking of doing some snow wheeling.

I'm not sure if Ben will be ready. I'm going to go outside, remove skids, pressure wash the underside and get the truck to the dealership and see if I can possibly get it fixed under warranty (I'm at 55K miles right now).

ECGS for a regear and ARB lockers sounds sweet, but it's a chunk of change and logically I should first see if Toyota is willing to fix it.

I don't where Ben lives, but I'd be happy to offer some help with an engine swap. I have a lift and all the necessary tools for the job. Might make for a good get together BBQ-wrenching party?

I think he is down in Olympia. I would be down for a wrenching party on a new engine if it gets to that point. Need to reengage myself on the process. Been about 12 years since my last engine pull.

I often work on hotrods and cars for my friends and have a decent home shop. Really, if anyone needs the use of a lift for large projects, just send me a PM and I can work out some time.

If you don't draw blood, you're doing it wrong!
Hey guys, thanks for the support and not pouring salt in the wounds (yet :))...I was thinking about hiding out for a while, but I needed to get on here and say

Anyway, Dora aka Cousteau is out of commission for a while. Need a new engine and a interior detail. As much as it sucks, and I feel like a complete idiot, I had a good time and am in good spirits. Mike came over last night to help "mediate" and give me great financial counsel (thanks Mike :))

Big thanks to Tallon for towing me out, and everyone that helped tear into the engine to try to get the water out. Shit happens, it's just some turds are bigger than others, I'm am grateful to have such a supportive network of members here who are willing to help anyway they can.

Joe, your picture made me literally lol, then shed a little tear and punch myself in the face.

...and Mike did get rowdy too, he has a new custom exhaust mod, courtesy of the rock garden.

To everyone else that came out, it was good to meet you all, and see some familiar faces. I hope everyone had a good time and learned "what not to do" in certain situations.:p

I'll post up more info. when I can, but I have to get to work and figure out what to do next.

Thanks for the support y'all!

I've had really good luck with used engines from B&R Auto, might be worth checking it out. www.car-part.com

    Hey Ben,

Glad to have made you laugh a bit. Not sure what is all involved in rebuilding an engine but I found one on CL that needs to be rebuilt. I'm not mechanic savvy so there may be a better, cheaper alternative than getting one that needs to be rebuilt.

I'm in as well. I might also be able to swing it to come down and help turn wrenches, of just bring some beer and food as well. No promises on second part.
