Let me know what you find, always been something in the back on my mind. And any 2nd gen owner who's truck I've hopped into has probably heard me comment on how huge the interior seems to me. I like my cozy 1st gen.

If you have the cash, or a bank loan, and better deals are through dealer financing then just finance it and turn around and pay it off before the first bill. Just make sure there's no early payoff penalties.

Supposedly older model celica seats are bolt in but I'm not sure if there comfortable or not

There's a few threads on other forums about seats... I'm just gonna have to dig them up

Sucks man. I dealt with the dealer out in oakdale. I had a battle trying to get them to come down but I got mine new and financed it with them. Think the guys name was joe.

i have up to 17k in cash but was really loooking to buy something for say 10k and leave me some disposable cash for incidentals....upgrades....new bike...
my credit sucks...i mean toyo gave me 2.9% but i had them by the short hairs....
and was looking to down grade from full coverage ins......
and if i do buy a nice one from a dealer for load then full coverage needed and if i pay cash i might want full coverage incase it gets whacked then im out 15-17k
    errrrrr
i found 2 today where cash is king........

    ty
ideally i want to spend no more then 12 out with tax title reg ect.....

    ty
im done with tacos.....i dont want to buy one and try n make it back into what i just lost .....
    time for a change
unless the price is un beatable.....

so i am just about burned out in the truck shopping...
i am going to take a break for the rest of today as i have tons of paperwork to do
and i could use the time to clear my head......
first off 4 out of the 20 or so dealerships i have been too....the managers were driving home the tundy and the 2 today were driving the runners home at night in the snow...

that being said..here is where i am at
i am thinking of going a little older for cheaper....
as i will prob rip out suspension and bumpers at some time anyway......
a 2004 sr5 has 79k miles and i can get it for say $9000----starts nice its a 4.0..looks like my tacoma engine....tranny has a dipstick....
had rust...unsure how bad as i didnt crawl under today..told him to clean it up and bring it inside and i will stop back tomm.....it had no sunroof "so i had plenty of head clearance"
i would love a sunroof but its close......i can work it out with seat positions if really needed.......
outside looks perfect..inside needs a little love....
which i am fine with......for the savings......
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/38939-tw-live-13961.html#post8082691

then i found an 2001......81k for say $7500 plus tax title reg.ect.
    it has a 3.4 v6 "which i hear is a workhorse" of a motor.....
it has rusted rear bumper....some surface rust on everything in pics a new exhaust...
it has a sunroof....head room is kinda tight......
has some scratches on rear quarter..."not bad"...lil rash im sure it will have more...
again i didnt climb under but will before final purchase.....
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/off-topic-discussion/38939-tw-live-13962.html#post8083100
    im so confused....
yes the 07 or 06 or 05 from the dealerships are nice....but we are talking 15-18k out the door....

there is 2 more in nj i was going to go look at tomm.....this one is 4.7 v8 limited
again that 10,900 price tag is internet price...which in my travels is a load of crap ...id say they want closer to 14k for it when i show up......
    http://www.hudsontoyota.com/detail-2003-toyota-4runner-limited-used-11474515.html

and this one at same dealer.....an 98 limited v6 3.4
    http://www.hudsontoyota.com/detail-1998-toyota-4runner-limited-used-11575635.html
this one has a bit more miles then i want tho.....

In the end there will only be rubble and Toyota 3.4 engines. But my 4.0 in the 4Runner has some balls
