I've seen products sold that claim to keep them pliable longer but it just seems like snake oil to me. Those Valeo Ultimate blades I suggested earlier are not super expensive and not cost prohibitive to be able to change every few years or so.

Tried looking them up, for our trucks I think it will be about 15k.

I heard American Track Truck was quite a bit less expensive, not sure how much though. They also have parts that are interchangeable with snowmobiles so it's easier to obtain replacement parts. Been looking into building my own too. Dude on Pirate has a build thread for tracks.

thats awesome for you but i can see that a following to close during adverse weather conditions could be a factor. usually if you rear end someone its your fault automatically. Thats awesome that you got that taken care of without paying anything though! stoked for ya

I have seen some that you drive on to and then they hook up some how, but you don't take your tires off to use them. Don't know how much they are either.

Yeah Phil the thing is, is that I wasn't following too closely and it was pretty much unavoidable. I wasn't going to fast, I braked like I normally would in those same conditions and I just slid.

There was an article in the paper the next day by the City of Boulder apologizing for the condition of the roads.

Track N Go. ($25k) Cool idea but seems a little too complex and heavy IMO. On another note, I called Wyoming BLM and they said it would be okay to use on snowmobile trails.:D

Yeah I do wonder how that works.

It was a rental car in this case though so I'm sure it wasn't too much of a concern to him. I'm not saying I don't feel guilty about it but just thought I would share the most recent news I heard

I always thought accident alert only meant don't call the cops unless there is drugs or alcohol involved and exchange information. Not get out of accidents for free lol.

and not have your insurance premiums go up because it was an act of god!!

my act of god incident with the sand storm up in summit county was a similar situation where it was out of my control so my insurance company footed the bill without my rates increasing. LUCKY ME!! hind sight is 20 20 and i should have went with a plate All Pro bumper at that moment! DANG NABBIT!

I'm kind of hoping I get hit in the rear or driver's door. I want a good rear bumper and want my door damage fixed without having to spend the money.

Actually the other guy could be screwed. If he did not buy the insurance on the car and it goes against his own policy regardless of weather it is considered a "claim" on his own policy. DO NOT ask me how I know.
