Wow, great shot Chenbro. Didn't see it submitted. Love the color of the house and the reflection is insane. Looks fake.

As for this challenge, I might fold... I have no idea how to increase exposure time :(

you can do it man! your camera will do it. Google shutter priority with your model and you'll be set

Don't fold, man! That's why we do this ha to learn! Just do what Monte said. Put it in Shutter Priority and then turn the dial to select one second, or 1".

then snap away and experiment with motion and stuff :) it'll be fun.

EDIT: if you follow a moving object with your lens the object will stay relatively in focus and the background will show the motion. It's pretty cool. Or take a portrait of someone and have them hold still in one spot for half the time and in another for the second half and they will have two faces ha you can shine a light on their face to "paint" it with light and make it stand out more, although a longer exposure may be needed.

Don't sit out! This is a great start to learning some really creative things to do with your camera. Do like Chaz said and try it. Grab your manual or ask in the photography thread. We will help you.

    What haven’t I changed?
    Thanks, everyone!

With point-and-shoot cameras (and smartphones with more advanced camera apps, most likely third-party) this challenge will still be possible, but you will need to be a little more creative in using the environment to trick the camera into doing your bidding if it doesn't give you manual control. Most point and shoots will let you choose ISO and that's about it, but I think they will still display the shutter speed when you're about to take a shot. Also, putting sunglasses in front of the lens will have the effect of darkening the image and slowing that shutter speed a little more, and if you don't have a tripod you can set up the shot with the camera on some crumpled clothes as a beanbag and use the self-timer to take the photo.

It's my hope that this challenge will really help you to become more familiar with your camera and force you to think about the final image before you press that shutter release!

Also using night mode on P&S's will make it take longer exposures.

Great challenge! I just started trying to figure out the slow exposure the other day. Here is what I came up with at 6 seconds and a flashlight. The wheels are turning on what to do with 1 sec.

I'll google it and learn... but don't you need a tripod if the exposure is set that long?

Depends on the look your going for :spy:

Or..just set it on something and have it fire with the 2 second delay so your fingers don't jostle it.
