Both left side door locks not working, please help!

I have a good one for ya guys. I don't have access to a wiring diagram, so maybe some of your could shed some like on my problem. Not too long after I purchased my 2006 Tacoma double cab, both power locks on the left side (diver's side) of the vehicle stopped working. The diver's door panel switch or the remote will unlock or lock both right doors, but will not operate both front and back left doors. I find it hard to believe that the truck could be wired with a left relay and a right relay. That just doesn't make since to me. Any ideals or has anyone had a similar problem? Thanks

 

The dealer already replaced my driver side and rear passenger actuator on my 2010 DC two weeks ago. Just this morning, the front passenger side is not working. Does anyone have this problem?

I just bought and older 05 dbl cab and it has the same problem. I am curious about what you learned to fix your driver side problem. Pass side works fine.
I need a lead!!

 

I would take the door panel off and check voltage at the actuator. More than likely a dead actuator.

 

I appreciate the suggestion--not knowing much about this truck yet, I went back to the dealer where I bought it. (auction truck, dedicated, local dealer with a great reputation--not a Toyota dealership, however.)
They did exactly what you suggested, and I got to watch the process to better learn for myself in case of future.
Actuators tested in the range--so he thinks the door latch itself needs replacing--starting with front because the mech said the rear door "might be" a slave to the front.
Anyway, just wanted to thank you for being spot-on!

I haven't checked my actuators yet although I still find it suspicious that both the front left and rear left doors would have went out at the same time. Got a price at the dealer of these things one day and nearly had a heart attack. I also really need to check out the door switch because I have noticed that the dome light will deem out with the door still open. Basically, shut down truck, open driver's door, light comes on, then light deems out after a delay. The light should really stay on until I shut the door, should it not? I just haven't had time to investigate this mess as of yet. El TacoMa, it sounds like those guys are just guessing but it is interesting that the mech said the rear door might be slaved to the front door. When I originally posted this, I was looking for info on how the front left door would be connected electrically to the rear left door? I've yet to see any kind of wiring diagram showing a relay between to two, so I was fishing for info which would lead me to possibly things to check out which made sense. For example, if the door switch in the front is somehow tied in with the rear, then it's something I would definitely want to check out. If the truck thinks the door is open when it is closed, will the power locks still work? If the truck thinks the door is closed when it it still open, the dome light should deem out, should it not? It would be nice to know how the front left and rear left doors are connected to each other electrically and both independent of the right side doors. This might help me to narrow down what to check rather than start taking the whole truck apart.

Make sure you guys aren't using a silicone base lubricant for your door locks to lube them also armor all also will get in the door lock actuator and kill the motor

 

Please keep us updated on the results of the repair. I never heard of the rear door being slave with the front, unless he's talking about the master switch on the driver's door. I still think it's a bad or weak actuator, which they could probably test by swapping front and rear actuators before replacing the latches.

 

Sorry to be delinquent about posting the resolution. Two new door latches and everything works great. Luck for me the dealer covered it--parts were $250 each! I asked the mechanic if the front somehow linked or controlled the rear and he said he tested it by replacing the front first and checkin the rear door lock. No dice...So the rear still had to be replaced, meaning his idea of the rear being a slave to be front was a red herring.
