hey yall. the other day I tried to start my truck and it wouldn't. I depressed my clutch completely a few times trying to start it and nothing happened. I pushed my clutch start cancel button and it started just fine. im thinking it is a problem with the sensor from my clutch to the starter, but im not sure. any advise? am I able to fix this problem or do I just live with the issue?

It's the switch at the bottom of your clutch pedal....I just took mine out sprayed it with electric clean and put it back in. It's only one nut to remove it...if it still doesn't work they are not that expensive from the dealer.

I used to have a a TRD supercharger on the Tacoma, converted back to NA when I bought the Tundra. The SC was tons of FUN!!!
I have a starting issue that gradually came about. I originally thought it may have been the switch on the clutch pedal, but the same problem was occurring with the clutch start cancel button engaged as well.

Before we go any further, the battery is fine and the starter does not chatter.

I was able to start it after a few attempts, then it gradually went to several tries, then it became many tries. It seems to work after the vehicle warms up. On cold mornings - forget it. Now, it just clicks once and nothing more. Tried it about 40 times yesterday with no luck.

I also thought it could be the ignition switch, but now believing that the starter solenoid is the culprit. I noticed the right bank head is leaking a small amount of coolant (an issue that I plan to remedy in the near future), and the starter IS wet.

I'll probably just replace the starter/solenoid assembly first and see if that resolves the issue ...
