Picked up a G19 last night with factory night sites. And I just applied/paid for my CWP in Virginia. Its been an expensive two days!

Oh and I actually found 9mm target ammo at a walmart here in town!

Every time I go to AZ to visit family, I always buy a shit ton of ammo at Walmart. For some reason, they have more ammo in AZ at lower prices than in CA. Doesn't make sense since I assume there are more gun owners and demand for ammunition in AZ than in CA.

Something like $92 for the Remington UMC Mega Pack of 250 rounds of .40 S&W.

That's neat but I'd be worried about it becoming a projectile in a wreck...a projectile that's a loaded gun.

I like the idea though - I'd maybe add a Velcro wrap with a quick-pull tab or something.

Its actually snug. I was going to secure a kydex holster into it so it would look more presentable and be secure, but it actually ended up having the same tension as a holster. And that was to MY surprise! Thats why I ended up leaving it naked. It just worked.

Works great, but be sure to know the laws of the states that you travel through. Loaded, that would be a no-go in many states, and some states may prohibit it under any conditions.
California requires that it be in a secure, locked container now that open carry is illegal.

Some states consider the vehicle an extension of your home, so you're golden, and other states, such as California, consider your vehicle an extension of your person, so that would be unlawful concealed carry if not in plain view, and unlawful open carry if in plain view.

Very good points. On my upcoming roadtrip to LA, I already have a plan. Once my CCW arrives in the mail, I'll be legal to carry concealed from Virginia to Arizona with no problems at all. Right before we hit the border of California, Its getting unloaded and locked up. Just like the law abiding victim I'm forced to be.

When I buy ammo here, and people look at my CA Drivers license, they look at me funny... One guy even asked me if I drive a prius.

I've bought uppers from PSA before. They are built to order. So your slow shipping is because once orders are places they start building.
