Lucchesi or prince park in Petaluma are always open. Walnut and McNear park downtown are good too.

Ya I was gonna cruise by and check each one out, see which would be best for a meet. Penngrove, unfortunately, sounds like its out. They only rent it in the summer months. The front part is open, but no alcohol allowed.

I'll check it out in the next few days, lock down a location. I'd like to have somewhere to throw horseshoes, cornhole etc. plus a bunch of parking spots.

So on another note, I did a bit more research on Petaluma parks. I'll post it here, but I'm also going to change the OP.

DATE: Looks like Sat March 22 is the day. 1 PM till ?

Location: I was thinking McNear park was a good choice. Nice park with plenty of parking right next to the picnic tables (important for ogling over badass trucks!) tons of space, plus horseshoe pits!

    HERE'S THE DEAL

We need to decide on how legit we want to make this get together. In order to have more then 15 people, and IN ORDER TO HAVE ALCOHOL we will need to officially rent out the park.

It costs $110 to rent for the day, plus a one day insurance policy (I have a call in to my agent, shouldn't be too much) This is the case for all city parks in Petaluma.

Otherwise, we can meet there un-officially, but no beer allowed.

The way I see it, if we can get a large enough group committed (and I mean committed, not flake out at the last minute) and folks would be willing to pitch in a few bucks a head then it'd be worth it. I would glad to rent the park under my name, and take out the Insurance policy, and I'm still down to sport a keg of Lagunitas. If everybody pitched in a few bucks towards the rental fee and insurance then it'd be all good.

So I'll go ahead and update the OP, and y'all pitch in with your thoughts. Im committed to making this a kickass meet.

I'll throw 40 on the park and whatever I drink. Maybe just a byob scenario

Side note I have been partying at that park for the last 4 independence days, didn't know you needed a permit to drink there... Oops :)

I was kinda wondering about that, like how vigilant the local pd are about park patrol... We could probably get away with it, but I'd rather just do it on the up n up, keep TW from getting a bad rap. Plus it would suck for folks that came from out of town if we got shut down.

I appreciate the donation pledge! Lets do this!

That park would be cool. IIRC there is a huge bank of picnic tables in the corner with a BBQ pit.
You should probably put up a list in your OP, so we can get a list of definates that are cool to chip in on the park.

Put me down as a solid 'Yes'
I mentioned it to my GF and she's happy to shoot down there for a weekend visit with her fam so I'll come hang out. I'll likely be in our/her 4runer though rather than my Tacoma just for extra travel space and comfort.

What we need as far as food/supplies? I can hit up Costco and grab some food/drinks/whatever before I head down.

Throw me on the list. I can bring a big icechest full of non-beer drinks. Soda/juices/water.

Damn. Too bad more of the east bay couldn't make the drive.

I can stop by with my wife on my way to the casino. I'll bring my own beer and put in a $20 for the park.

Awesome. I'll let you know as it gets closer, but if u wanted to grab the paper plates, plastic ware, napkins that'd be great.m

Right on! And hey unless you're not into Lagunitas' beer, I'd say we'll probably have more than enough. In my experience a keg of that stuff goes a LONG way.

To be honest i'm not the biggest Lagunitas fan and since i'm just stopping by for a bit it's not worth chippin in for a keg.
