Holy shit, is this someone who actually makes sense on an internet forum? Thank you for actually selling me on a vehicle instead of putting down another. Now, a couple questions.

I noticed the 2014 Frontier has more HP and Torque, what aftermarket parts are there that can counter act this?

Also what about eh drum brakes in the back? How can I convery these to disk?

If your asking on a Toyota forum about the difference in a Tacoma and a Frontier aren't you asking for someone to put down the other?

On a side note. I've heard the fitment on Frontiers interiors such as door panels etc isn't as good as on the Tacoma's.

Yes you can convert the brakes. You have to realize that you have a light ass end too though.

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Tacoma has the best braking distances in it's class. Why would you want to change that?

Thank you, how easy is it to change the oil and other normal maintenance procedures? I bought a Jetta years ago and had to remove the whole engine to change a fucking water pump. I'll burn a car before I go through that again over something so small.

Disk brakes with slots are similar in braking distance but way easier to work on.

The oil filter is on the top of the engine when you lift the hood. Easy enough?

I wasn't talking about them putting down the Frontier I was talking about eh Jeep, I had a lot of posts saying the Tacoma was a better offroader than a Jeep, not exactly what the Tacoma was made for, but exactly what the Jeep was made for...

I hate drum brakes, I worked on some a few times and have always disliked them. Disk is easy as hell and I've never had a problem. I'm not a mechanic by any means but I can turn a few wrenches and do small things. I want to be able to do as much on a truck as I can on a Jeep is really my issue.

Well you can change the front disc's in about 10 min. for both sides if that tickles your fancy. You pop a spring, pull the pins and both pads come right out. No unbolting the calipers or any of that bs.

That's awesome, what about everything else, alternator, starter, water & fuel pumps? I'm curious as to how much of a pain in the ass it is for the normal things that break afte 5-10 years Thank you for your responses.

Can I convert the back drums to disc? That's what I'd rather do. The differnce between drum and disc is very little that I need to care about but the difference in my time for replacing pads, calipers, and rotars will be the issue.

Thats bad ass, I had a 1995 Jeep (280K miles) miles I had to replace the fuel pump on, no big deal...

I had a 2005 Jetta (70K miles) I had to replace the water pump on, I had to remove the engine completely.

Since then I'm weary of all foreign vehicles.

My wife has a 2006 Jetta. The worst damn vehicle I've ever had the displeasure of working on. Changing the oil. Pain in the Ass. Changing the air filter. Pain in the Ass. Replaced the radiator fans. MASSIVE Pain in the ASS. I funcking hate her car.

I answered that above but here is the link to a kit. I don't know how good or bad it is but here's a kit.

If you like the jeep so much, and are thinking about getting another beater car anyways, why not get a beater truck? Old tacoma or other brand and keep for jeep... You can find older tacomas for pretty cheap and who cares if you dent it at the lumber yard or getting bark mulch.
