I can't speak on the newer gens but as far as reliability and off-road capability I've been content with my previous PreRunner and current T4R. FTR, I just did my own research and avoided possible shit storms online. Good Luck with your decision.

I'm pretty damn disgusted in you guys. When this thread started it was friendly banter between Jeep and Toyota. Now? You bastards are acting like little kids fighting over a petty argument. Grow up dammit. Does a 17 year old have to realize this or have other people noticed this as well?

Dude, sorry I wasn't trying to be a dick to you... Kinda pissed off at the trolls who come out. I appreciate your answers and help, honestly I do. I'll be out tomrrow to tet drive and see what I think from there. I have the money set aside all I have to do is call my bank and go from there. I want the best deal I can because I am cheap as shit. Thank you again.

You are off to a wonderful start here. Why don't you put on the big boy pants and make your own decision. Do you always need complete strangers to hold you by the hand when you make important life decisions?
I think you should definately keep the jeep and then go buy a prius.

and 1 more aspect of it, maybe this will change your mind! I love driving my truck man, it handles flawlessly on and offroad! the thing i really like is driving around town, people stare at my truck all the time, honk the horn and wave haha its really quite cool!!

and im not trying to be a dick but Tacoma world is more of a community then just a web site they don't take lightly to people coming in here saying that jeeps can beat a Tacoma's ass all day long and stuff like that, everyone on this forum is super nice you just got to accept that we are die hard toyota fans!!

Thank you, guess it was my fault for reaching out to owners of a vehicle and expecting objective help. I just want to hear the truth about a vehicle. When people tell me their truck is better than a space shuttle at moon orbits I tend to get pissy in return. Thank you for the reality check.

I've only owned my Tacoma for the past 6 months, but I am more and more impressed with it as time passes. My son purchased a Frontier Nismo 4x2, which was set up a lot like my Prerunner and was a pretty sweet truck. I helped him drive it halfway across the country when he was in the Navy and can tell you, it doesn't compare to the Tacoma in the way it drives. Much rougher and noisier. No major mechanical problems, but lots of little things that had to be dealt with....lights...brakes...electrical. I considered one until test driving the Tacoma.

I love my Tacoma, I've owned two other trucks both dodges. Both had tranny issues, and I don't mean random pencil in your pocket stuff, one had a front diff go out. I've put 60k miles on my Tacoma and it has not had any issues. According to my dad who is a Chevy guy, it still drives like it's brand new. Not that loose Chevy/Jeep/Ford feel after 20k miles thing.

Or I could ask people who own a vehicle the pros of it as they would sell me better on it than the people at the dealership, but you seem to have a PHD in ******ry so please kindly go fuck yourself.

Considering my sister in law drives a tacoma you're not much of a man. Funny her busband told me to go with an F-150... Maybe I should have left it at that instead of asking others for their opinion...
