    Just the norm skids, sliders, & 35's
    Why on earth would you want to stretch your wheelbase out to 140:confused: If anything you should shorten the wheelbase as much as possible without getting into the cab.

    He thinks this is his thread and gets huffy whenever people disagree with him on anything. Right now he's just another I say "I am SAS'ing but haven't done anything yet but collect parts" oh and talk about the truck he "used to have."


    Well fuck me I cant wait to see his custom fabrication. I hope it turns out well, but for the amount this kid runs his mouth, his shit better look like it was built by a high dollar shop.


    He really doesn't grasp the concept of "different strokes for different folks." It seems he has a lot of knowledge, but comes across as an asshole with almost every new post he makes.




    Wheelbase wins. You can go too far though and sacrifice breakover angle. He's not really shooting for a super low frame height as most of us do.


    I am at 130" on 37's and its not bad. I wouldn't mind a little longer if I was on 40's, but I would go quite out to 140" if it was me.

    Seriously where did you get a double cab 1st gen 4x4 for 10K? Can't find one for less than 12-14 out here. As for your wheel base and taller belly height and you think that is going to work well for you at hammers? Going to be wobbly through the woops, smack your belly on ups, and get pinned in the tighter area's.... I mean I get wanting to have a 90 degree approach but that's too much. But hey, your truck, your opinion.

    As for the Chrysler motor, I get arguing a Chrysler auto trans, they are crap, but point me to one thing about the 4.0l that is shoddy?

    I get pulling the front, but leave the rear and chop the bed. I am confused as well :confused:

    have you looked at my truck im on a factory wheel base right now and my 35's are already into the cab in the front and im only a few inches from the cab in the rear.

    Look i dont mean to come off that way but i really am not a fan of jeeps and i went to far i guess. i know how to back off and just let it be, Everyones opinion is their opinion Yes i talk about a truck that i built and it was very functional for mud trails, and rock crawling so i use that experiance that i have with that truck as points in my OPINION.

    Also i start on my sas this summer right after i get back from moab i want to wheel my truck one last time the way it is. I started prep on the axle and no it's not going to get done really fast but im going to start on it and when its done you can wheel with me. That way you can see what how it works and apply that to your opinion.
    Bought it in idaho falls 3 years ago with some surface rust on the back of the frame, 168K on the motor and no body damage what so ever. The guy wanted 12K i walked up to him with 10K cash so he took it.. No i can say nothing bad about the 4.0 other than a common exaust issue but hey what motor doesnt have some sort of common issue?

    lastly about this kill yourself comment, No one else jokes about that it's been a joke all over the next for the last year i really didnt mean for him to consider it or anything.

    Hey look we agree on something! I had one experience with jeeps...my wifes '07 4DR JK...POS. One experience was enough for me. I have always been a Toyota guy from a Toyota family, and now she is too.

    I know i dont share the same opinion as you when it comes to the way im building my truck or that i dont want it to hit the free way cuz im sacrificing some things for others like my full hydro steering for free way driving. Im not saying i wont make mistakes but I've looked into it a lot and i think ill be fine with my build the way i have it planned. Now is it more expensive than a jeep? Yes but it's worth it to me. Cmack threw me into a spin of rage when he said jeeps are a better off road rig that toyota, and that sasing a toy wasnt worth the cost compared to buying a jeep. I came here and wanted to see what you guys had to say. Some good debate about it happened and i calmed down and went and made my peace.
