Baja Wheels

Ok, i posted this question over on the wheel thread but didnt get many responses. What makes a Baja Wheel a Baja Wheel?

 

Are you talking about with your "Rugged Trail" Package, those wheels?

Its Toyota's way of making factory wheels painted black look and sound exciting. Because if it just said "black factory wheels" you wouldn't say "cool, I wanna pay $30K for this truck".

 

I think baja refers more to off-road racing tires, and rims, then off-road mudding or rock crawling! If u take a close look at Baja tires their treads arent nearly as deep or wide apart, they are more like a really aggresive street tire like the ones on this Baja Racing Truck

i wasnt talking about tires, just rims. baja usually means speed so i didn't know if they were suppose to be lighter or what. i have a feeling its just an "exotic" sounding name when it comes to mine, but i was wondering if real baja rims were special in some way

 

he doesn't have the rugged trail package, just the wheels. ND the real baja rims have bead locks (which i believe aren't street legal) that hold the tires on with low pressure flying through silt. my high school buddy races the tecate score 500 and 1000 here's his race site http://www.vossmotorsports.com/flash.html. His backyard was in fox terrafirma 7, i was standing with all the riders when the heli does the flyby at the end. Baja tires have very rigid sidewall construction and multiple layers to prevent punctures at high speeds. I think they are named after some race.

Ye sorry, but asides from having access to this computer since I been goin to school for the last 2 months I most literaly never have any media interaction, I still got bunny ears on my T.V. at home, and my room mate has a 15 yr old computer with dial up that I never use, my life revolves around my work, and w/e else I can do to keep me busy and moving! So I dont go looking into things like sporting events and races, Id much rather be the one playing the sports and racing! And I would love to be out playin some road hockey but I shatterd my elbow in january snowboarding and it still hasnt healed! Guess I just have to settle for my morning runs!

 

Dunno im still reading about it! Besides I'm poor, I havent been on a vacation since I was 8, and the chances of me getting enough money to take a trip south in the next little bit are slim enough, not to mention the fact that since I been goin to school I been receiving about %60 of my normal wages, putting me into deeper into debt as each week goes by, I cant wait till the summer so I can work my ass off make some money, get outta debt, and start my saving back up, and then go and do all those great things to my truck that I been waiting on, which is just a small lift, and new rims so I can run 285/75/16 tires.
