It's awful to see that for the South though... it's not like there is ice melt or scrapers sold in every store.
All our stores sold out of sand bags & rock salt a few times this season. It has been brutal.
Be safe down there, black ice sucks.

    Why not?

    ^^^This

I drove to work this morning and enjoyed the circus of people thinking they can drive normal speeds. Had a semi pass me at about 50 wtf???

I had to drive around quite a few people that got stuck at lights and couldn't get going again. lol

Slow and steady. Don't get in a hurry.

Believe it or not, a semi has unreal traction capabilities. It's not rare for them to be the fastest and safest vehicles on the road in inclement weather. About a thousand times better than our little lightweight pickups in the snow. But when they lose traction? Holy hanna... you better steer clear!

I agree that the weight helps a little but is it worth the risk of killing someone or yourself to get there? There was already semi's off the road cause they thought the same thing.

He also would have taken me out had I been in the other lane. It was iced over at the traffic light that he blew through.

I ventured out and made it about 1 mile down the road once I reached the pavement.

I've never heard so much clicking and beeping and the rear end was sliding around every time I gently pushed the gas pedal

I realize its all ice but the brakes were applying themselves the entire time I was going around a curve ... I am all for fun but that's no bueno

It's supposed to be 10 degrees tonight

I'll just stay here and be warm ... Tomorrow afternoon it will all be gone

Only time I slid this morning was when the truck decided it was smarter than me.

Here's another good reason to stay home ^^^^^^^

There are all of those who THINK they know how to drive in inclement weather and drive way too fast and cause accidents

Did it brake for you ? I've never experienced all the beeping and clicking and dash lights illuminating from the traction control

If I have to go somewhere today at least it won't be a surprise

Yeah it slid me past the road I was turning on. Didn't get sideways or anything, just pulsating petal and slid straight. Mine will go off sometimes on a dry road going around a sharp onramp, probably because of the lift throwing the sensors off.

    I'm used to hearing it.
