My first new vehicle (Longest INTRO thread)

Well i guess its time to join the taco family. just reserved my first brand new vehicle and its a 2014 reg cab 5spd 4x4 tacoma. it should be ready for pickup on tuesday at my dealership. not new to toyotas or these forum boards so youll see me often lol. heres my past vehicles

Just want to introduce myself. I just bought my first Tacoma it is a 2014 double cab long bed. I have had it about 1 month and love it so far. Do wish MPG were a little better . Live near Baltimore Md. Did not like not having a auto dimming mirror and outside temp so i had one installed.

 

Hey everyone, I purchaced my Tacoma in November of 2013 and so far so good. Really nice in snow and mud!!! Its a 2005 with 138,000 on the clock and stick shift and was a one owner car dealer serviced. Clutch was replace @122,000 miles and shifts perfect. Getting about 22-25 mpg driving 70% highway so can't complain. Gonna order the Ultraguage and try to improve things a bit and keep an eye on other things around the engine.

 

I read your post, you're getting excellent MPG. Toyotas get better with age.
I have a 2009 that just gets 18-19 around town in warmer weather. My\
MPG will improve ,I hope, Only has 53 K miles. Be sure and keep the bottom
and frame of your truck rinsed out because of salt on your roads from winter
driving.

 

Hello everyone, I got 2014 regular cab tacoma for my first car and it is really fun to drive. Hope to make small improvements to it with money I have.

 

Especially the ones that I hear outside my bedroom every morning. I have been lurking around for some time. I have had about 6 Toyota trucks that I have bought in the last 10 years. I just bought a new 2014 Toyota Tacoma TRD sport 4x4 yesterday. I love it. I had another Tacoma but it was not a 4x4. It gave good gas mileage but I wanted something I could use in the woods.

I will down load a couple of my old trucks and of course down load a picture of the one I just bought. I look forward to conversing with many of you. All the very best, Dave




This is the closest thing I have seen. I have the black smurf bars for my step side. I guess that's what you would call them.

Just bought a 2011 Toyota Tacoma Pre Runner SR5 Sport
in Magnetic Gray Metallic. The biggest selling point was the 110 in the bed with the Bluetooth and Back up Cam, hitch and wiring already.

Hi all- I am a new "old" member. Sold my '06 LB 4x4 a while ago- been away for a few years and now have come back with a 2013 LB 4x4. (dealership demo) I missed my Taco. A few oem extras and waiting for a topper. I'll do things to it as money permits.

Hi everyone, been registered for about a month now and haven't stopped reading. I got a 2013 white access cab trd sport manual and love it. I have rock sliders on the way from BAMF and I cant wait to put them on. First toyota I've owned and have no regrets so far.

Hey Fellow Tacoma Fanatics, I'm posting as suggested as a new forum member too. I have been driving my 2001 Tacoma since 50,000 miles or so. with 170,000 miles on it now, I've lost most of the tools I used religously on Fords and Chevys. I will be using the forum to get details about the things that come up as this one ages. I have been driving with a temp gauge that always reads in the center of the gauge which can't be right. Where I live, rust is a constant companion. Mechanics here learn to deal with it or take up something else. Toyota gave my ride a new frame, and fixed the broken spring it had at the same time. At first I was skeptical about this rig because it was so light, but I am becoming a believer. My whole thing with this truck was four cylinder, four wheel drive with a pick-up bed. I sometimes catch myself trying to turn around in places my GMC wouldn't have even gotten to. One thing I have learned about highway handing on slippery roads is to put a couple of sand bags behind the rear wheel wells. Not enough weight to make it tail heavy, but enough so that I rarely use the four-wheel drive. I need the clearance for mud in the Spring, but really don't think the big 16 inch tires are necessary. If you're still reading, I better quit and read something from somebody who has something to say.

 

I bought my Tacoma new in 2004 and just joined this forum. Oh well, better late than never.

 

Bought my first Tacoma in 1997, put 310, 000 miles on it. I still have it. Yesterday I brought home my new (2011 new to me) Quadcap SR5, very excited!
