I just rebuilt my 3rz less than 2k ago and now I find a 97 4runner limited 5vz with a SC installed for $1000. Truck has some front suspension and body damage but thats about it. Plus it has an elocker! heres the possible deal breaker here, it has 230k and the SC has probably around 100k. Im kinda put off by the mileage since Im currently on a fresh motor. I know if the 5vz has been kept well it can last another 100k but what about the SC?

I wouldn't. I would just stick with what you have. That 4runner is pretty much at the end of its life. The life on your motor pretty much just restarted. It's all fine and dandy to have 200, 300, 400k miles on your vehicle. That's great, but as a rule of thumb, I think it's a terrible idea to go swapping in tired and worn components.

Like some of these Honda guys...their Civic has 300k on the shell, so they swapped out their motor with 300k for a motor with 250k. Hmm...less miles I guess...? Slightly better condition...maybe. Worth the trouble and headache? NO

    Intake, exhaust, lift. Typical stuff.
I would be concerned with how the previous owner cared for it. If he had a lead foot and liked to run WOT, might want to put that $1k towards a turbo on your newly built 3RZ.

id say stick with the fresh motor. thats high mileage and your going to end up just putting more money into the 5vz..
