What. Do a down-to-the-frame solid axle swap and have the frame of a cab?

if you want to put a solid axle under your truck I'm not stopping you. I just wouldn't go to that extreme.

 

For all you guys that haven't seen Sgt Tacos Rover

 

I'm not sure how long those tires are gonna last on that gravel

 

Actually, I wouldn't mind taking the time to strip down the drivetrain and slap in new moving parts including an Inchwork Lefty, maybe get Marlin Crawler to rebuild the tranny. I like working on it, just wish I had the luxury to take my time doing it.

 

True. I wouldn't mind doing that either but maybe go to a right side drop transfer case to open up the axle options around here. Unless you plan on getting a custom axle built (I might go that route for an upgrade on mine). I also plan on putting in a crawl box on my truck sometime down the road.

I got it back today, runs great and it's at the tranny shop to get the fluid all chainged out and inspected.

 

just spotted a pre-2009 black dcsb, debadged, black stock wheels, plate front bumper, dual nice sounding exhaust on panorama in alamogordo. anybody on here? nice truck btw!

I've been OK, other than the broken finger, which is taking a long time to heal. That's why I missed the La Bajada trip.

to those living in clovis, how was it waking up to a mass invasion of tumbleweeds? haha some states wake up to 3 feet of snow... Clovis NM wakes up to 10 feet of tumbleweeds hahaha
