    This weekend I'll be picking up a white 2012 DCLB TRD Sport 4x4 with less than 14k miles. I want to begin doing a little bit at a time to it. I envision:

    a mild lift mainly for a better look but want good quality;
    FJ Cruiser or other OEM type rims painted black;
    seat covers;
    bed cover, most likely a camper top wired into the keyless entry but I'd like to hear you all's thoughts, pro and con, or advice on what toppers you've had good use out of;
    alter the grill somehow, either paint matched logo with horns or I've seen some good looking grills with black mesh inserts;
    air filter/intake for better horse power;
    exhaust;
    any other suggestions of mods you've enjoyed.

    Please post pics if you have them of the item you're recommending. Thank you in advance for your time. I look forward to hearing from you guys!

    The best thing to do would be get a toytec ultimate lift kit and then get wheels.

    These are a nice wheel:

    They are a 16 inch wheel but I took them off my 2012 OR and put them on my 2014 Sport with no problem. The pic is them on my 2012.

    Toytec Coilovers, Total Chaos uca's, Wheelers aal+Bilstein 5160's. 285/70/17's, Method Double Standards. Magnaflow exhaust, GrilleCraft grille, Allpro bumper,diff breather relocate, yellow wire mod, oil catch can, weathertechs.
    So many options for you. I wouldn't waste money on an aftermarket air intake kit, they make more noise than anything and don't really help much on fuel mileage. Lifts really depend on how you use your truck. I would def. look into getting a coilover front setup (king,icon,toytec,etc). aal's are good for the rear, but full replacement packs are better since tacoma leaf springs suck. Old Man Emu has some good lifts too. I've always like the looks of the leer 100 shells myself, if you're looking into one of those. Sounds like you're on the right path. Build it to suit you needs. The white truck with black wheels will def. look good though. I've always been a fan of the stormtroopers.

    I really love those wheels, just don't like the red TRD. Been thinkin bout gettin them recently... Since my taco is white, I think I would have to make it white somehow.

    Those came off my TRD off-road, when I traded it in I made the dealer check to see if they fit a sport. Once they clarified they cleared, I had him swap them onto the sport as part of the deal.

    Mostly cosmetic, some new and many take offs from my 2012:

    Rear view mirror lift bracket from ImMrYo on the forum
    Upgraded my basic mirror to an autodim, homelink, compass mirror from Bob on the forum.
    Center console and glovebox organizers from salex on the forum
    Upgraded to the entune audio premium with app suite and navigation from FLTrucks on this forum
    Weather tech front and rear digital floor liners
    OEM black tube steps off my '12
    Cooper AT3's 275 65 R16's on black FJ trail team wheels
    Bak industries fibermax hard folding tonneau
    Antenna x euro style 13 inch antenna (to fit in the garage)

    Safe to say, this forum has cost me a lot of money, but money well spent.

    Here you go.

    Powdercoated factory wheels

    Leer 180cc topper

    Weathertech window visors

    As soon as I move I will be putting on a OME lift and ARB bumper with winch and full skid plates. So in a month or two I will put up some photos.

    I'm really considering a topper like that. Going for utility over that SUV look. Are your side windows just for access or do they have the compartments? Are you happy with whichever you chose?

    I really like those wheels. Not sure if I want to go down in size though..... Trying to find an OEM 18" I like.

    Agreed. I'm considering doing mine white instead of black once I choose a style.

    It has worked out well.

    The Leer 180 is the taller model and the cc stands for commercial quality. It is thicker and can hold more weight. They said I had to get it so support the rack. That pipe/ladder rack is a kargomaster. All the windows flip up like the back one. That is the way to go in my opinion. That way stuff is accessible all around. I do sprinkler repair so in the summer I haul lots of crap around. You can get a model with one of the windows that has storage boxes but mine does not have them.

    So all in all the Leer cost more but looks nicer. And with the cc model that adds a little more to the cost.

    One nice thing was I got this for my 2006 Tacoma and was able to put it on my 2012 because the beds are the same. So you could find a used one that will fit on the years 05 to 14. Plus that is a good selling point if you ever wanted to sell it plus the leer will have a better resale.

    Here is my '08 Sport with a Leer 100XL. I think it compliments the truck perfectly!!......BTW.... New to the forum (officially) and this is my first post!! Hope you see the cap, kind of a crappy pic.
