Would love to pick one of these up. I carry waay too much stuff in my Access cab. Im just worried i wont have enough space for my landscaping equiptment with the box(36" walk behind, ramps, etc) so i gotta do some measuring. Too damm cold at the moment tho:mad:

It's pretty close to bed rail height. I have the same box and this is how it fits:

I have the Lowes Kobalt toolbox like others have shown.

But, if I need a little more weather tight storage I use this:

    IMG_20140123_192830_949_zps2imbx5ps_7296679ec5099a107c0ae4800198d4931996a80a.jpg

And, if you ever DO want to secure it, I screwed a 2x4 to the inside and bolted a big D-ring through it. This way I can chain it down if I feel the need.

There's a guy on here that has posted pics of a UWS box that is actually made for a step-side S-10 or Ranger pickup that fits right down inside of the Taco bed (not on the bed rails) and the lid clears the bed rails when open. For a DC that the fenderwells go against the cab this is a nice box but still kinda $-steep for no more box that you get. But still worth a look at....

+1 for this. I have one on each side of the bed. I can't afford to lose the length in the short bed if I added a standard toolbox. One has all of my recovery gear, the other basic tools, rain jackets, blanket, and other misc items.

I looked at the swing boxes too. But, I have my bed extender mounted where the swing boxes would mount.

I know what you mean about bed space in a DCSB though. I have a Baja rack and a bed extender. If that's not enough space, I just bring the trailer! :D

I just bought one also, low pro 12inch to save some bed space. I know alot of people have had bad luck but Im painting it black. All prep work is done ,just waiting for some dry weather to etch prime and paint it.

Its a shame they only have boxes behind the wheel well, I'd like something like this all the way over the well to the head wall. I don't like cross boxes or chests shortening the useful length of my bed.

I have a UWS and a Weatherguard, and while the UWS isn't bad the WG is far superior in construction and durability of the internal components. I'll pay the higher price up front because it's worth it in the long haul.

same here. mines a little bigger. I couldn't justify the price on uws. I was originaly going to get one. looked at lowes, then went to a truck shop and looked at the uws in person cash in hand. and still ended up with the lowes one anyway. I have a regular cab so I kinda needed the extra dry storage space.
I have had 0 issues with my kobalt and glad I didn't spend anymore money on uws. Especially now I'm starting to look at contractor cap's with built in boxes rendering my crossover useless... hopefully soon..
