Just don't use 4wd as a crutch and think you can go fast because you have it on, and you will be good. 4wd trucks still go in the ditch when you drive like it's summer. I still don't know how you go in the ditch just driving on a straight road, but around a turn or braking is a different story.

Not all Northern people treat Southern drivers that way, that's a stereotype. Not all Northern drivers are the best either. But no matter where you are from, if you are going to be driving in treacherous weather, you should have the proper equipment or stay off the roads.

If we all followed warnings well life wouldn't be any fun! That being said you prolly shouldn't be doing over 55 in the snow on a highway anyways. But I didn't hit 70 in the snow today on about 20 acres of open fields

Pffffffft. It also says to not use your locker over 15 mph or something slow. I've done 90 offroad 4wd engaged. Long as you're not getting stupid amounts of traction...run it.

Haha I know, I've had my locker engaged at 65mph on the highway when it wouldn't disengage.

I was just throwing it out there.

I've gone 75 on a snow covered highway. In 2wd of course. It depends what you are comfortable with doing. Know your vehicle. Know your limits. Don't make dramatic turns. Pay attention and plan ahead. Yada yada yada.

Truck will do fine either locked in or not! Although it will help out more locked in why not just use it if you got it... I drove my 84 2wd 5 Lug all over up and down WV Mountains in about 4-5 inches of snow. I had 100 pounds over the rear axle and thats all I needed. Of course its not going to be like driving the highway without snow, but defiantly doable. Remember its the Ice you have to worry about not really so much the snow!

Make sure you are running Anti Freeze!! I know FL people have a bad habit of fixing a leak and putting water in and not thinking about it if they go north. Just needs to be a 50/50

    Very valid.

You can pick up an antifreeze tester at an auto parts store to see what temp your antifreeze is rated to.

Can I loosen the u-bolts enough to reinstall the stock bump stops without removing the lower shock bolt? Common sense tells me it's fine because the shock itself isn't applying spring force but just making sure I'm not missing anything

lol yes they do...you need to have the proper ratio to keep from overheating too since the antifreeze also raises the boiling point of the coolant...they are about 6$ called a hydrometer

Hahaha I figured someone enjoy it….. the snow in the south has everyone going crazy

Guess I'll have to go to a junkyard...
I'm thinking I can get it out by prying on the side not just pull on it like I did
